Sad news, our Stewart Crossing property plan has fallen through at the ninth hour. It may resurrect but some things need to be resolved first which will take some time or forever. We are sad, they are sad. I think we all hold out hope though and perhaps later this summer or next year all will work itself out.
The solution for now... a hike on the Dena Cho Trail... one of my favourite places in the whole world.
These are some paintings Ive been mucking with with Goosie Will and I on the Dena Cho Trail coming into Ross River late last summer.

The Plan
I had been filling it slowly, breath by breath, a bright and taut thing stretched full of summer plans — the road through the trees, the work, the mornings, the shape of something finally beyond the magnet of the capital.
Then a small thing. Not a fist, not a storm. Just a pin — a question no one thought to ask, a road that crossed the wrong land, a lawyer too busy.
One word — or the absence of one — and the balloon did not explode. It simply let go of its shape. Quietly. The way good things sometimes end. Not with a fuss, just with air going out of the room.
I am left holding the limp and weightless thing that was, for a while, a whole summer ahead of us.
Crooked Creek Basecamp may belong to someone else's morning. Or good things may come out of the delay.
