Have you herd? We are looking for a new member to join our CREAMERY team!* If you're interested and live close enough to drive here a couple days a week reach out to us with your resume. Duties will include packaging, bottling, cheese making, and cleaning. Hours will be Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday. This could grow into something more if the right person comes along. No experience is necessary but it is helpful.

*At this time we don't need farm help, just creamery help, the picture is for attention 😊

Last week Heidi, my cousin and I dropped two heifers off for their summer vacation to Sherbrooke Village! Some museums aren't getting animals this year. So be sure to see Debora and Keep on Keepin On (Deb and Keeper for short!) at the biggest historical site in Nova Scotia!

Some farm updates! Most of our planting is done and our dry cows and heifers are on pasture! It's now been raining but one of my favourite times of year! With the leaves growing back it almost looks like a reverse fall, and all the businesses are opening back up for the season, soon we'll be going to the beach and attending outdoor concerts! Yay!

This is the 2nd year in a row the MILK BAGS had a team in the Cabot Trail relay race! Each athlete drank a bottle of milk at the end of each leg, chocolate milk is an excellent recovery drink! Congratulations to the Milk Bags on another successful race!

It's not every day we get to dress up and leave the farm! Last night, Bridget from East Skye Flora and I represented Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia and presented Folk Release of the Year at the ECMA'S with Carlton Stone! Wow the Atlantic is home to a lot of very talented musicians! It was also neat seeing 2 of our locals win awards, Aaron MacDonald and Morgan Toney! Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

I heard gas prices took a big jump up this week so if you're leaving the house you're going to want to make it worth your while! There's a bunch of exciting things going on and I heard they've even called off the rain! We usually do a beef sale, we do have beef in stock.

Besides our vending machine being stocked up (we made extra milk, chocolate milk and squeaky curds this week!) and working as it should (knock on wood!), we have our neighbours, the Wilson's putting on their yearly perennial plant sale, and a little down the road in Brook Village there is a community bake sale at the Brook Village Hall! You can also pop into any of the other destination 252 spots and check out their offerings! Farmers Daughter has been restocking their gift barn every week and Brook Village makes homemade pretzels!
