I never thought this little farm page would grow like this.

Before Christmas, I had less than 1,000 followers.

Now there are thousands of you watching me try to build something that means everything to me.

And I’m not going to pretend it’s easy.

Keeping a farm going costs money.

🌾Hay costs money.

🍎Feed costs money.

🔨Fences break.

🏠Shelters need building.

🐐🐔 Animals need care.

I’m working toward making this dream more sustainable, and this page has become a bigger part of that than I ever expected.

So yes… I’d love to see 10,000.

Not for the number.

For what that number could help make possible.

For the farm.
For the animals.
For the dream.

And for everyone who has been here watching me figure it out one day at a time…

STAGE #2 OF THE ANIMALS FEED SHED 🏠⬇️

If you scroll back to a couple posts 📫 back, you will remember that we took an older wood/hay shed close to the house and turned it into my official feed shed for all the animals.
Goats 🐐
Chickens 🐔
Roosters 🐓
Geese 🪿
Ducks 🦆
Guinea fowl 🤡
Turkeys 🦃

This is a game changer.

Finally at place to properly store grains and anything animal related.

The stages of how things come together around the farm indeed give me such a simple feeling of accomplishment. Even though they are small sometimes.

So stage #3 the roof still needs to be secured as we ran out of plywood, as well as wrap and siding to protect the walls.

Roof will be installed soon along with another huge addition to the farm that will be a game changer for it all.

🐞HOW TO KILL THOSE ASIAN BEETLES 🐞

I posted this in the spring time and we all know these little buggers are coming back as the weather gets colder!

My tried and true solution to capturing these little annoying things.

Take a ziplock bag and put about half a cup of corn starch and add to the bag.

Just so you don't have a sticky mess on your windows, painters tape is suggested to fasten to the window.

You will only tape one side to the window to allow the BEETLES to crawl into gap.

Once they crawl into bag they fall in and cannot climb back out.

The corn starch attracts them to the bag.

Each year these dumb creatures find their way in so we have done this year after year.

Replace the bags as they fill.
