Chicken prices are up and demand is not meeting supply and predicted to continue on that trend.
Glad to be raising my own this year! Food security is a big deal to me.

Not only do they taste sooooo much better that the factory farmed caged up stuff that never sees sunlight - these guys are raised in bright airy open areas, fed grass along side starter/grower and transitioned to finish on whole grains ( organic wheat and desiccant free oats ) , then grazing on fresh grasses and bugs - they are healthier and a far more ethically raised product as well.

The little meaties are almost ready to go outside! The weather has been a bit intense this year so far to say the least!

I am doing custom raising this year and custom processing. My first batch is spoken for, but I have ordered my second batch of chicks and have room for orders still. Send me a message if you are interested in some happy healthy farm raised chicken.

I think 🤔 fingers crossed 🤞 that Mildred is preggers. She was seen being serviced a few times by Bert, but kept cycling back. I’d pretty much given up that she was going to be able to stay in our program, but because she was so obese last year sometimes it can take a while for their hormones to regulate again. She is in a very nice lean condition, but her belly is looking a bit low and full in the flank so I’m really hoping there’s some piggies in there.

I discovered these children’s gardening gloves at Canadian Tire last year for $4.50 a pair. They do wear out fast doing what I do but for that price who cares! Restocked on my road trip lol

NOT MY VIDEO - was posted on Sask severe weather , not sure who the OP was but This was not far tracking our direction. I see the warning dropped to orange so I’m guessing it fizzled out.

That was THE most terrifying drive home. I was headed towards Moosomin on the #1 through some insane rain and very large hail. I could barely see. When I COULD see I didn’t want to see. There was a crazy mass of low rotating could dropping pretty much right over me. I booked it south at the nearest opportunity and all I see as I head through town is people on their lawns staring behind me. Not the best feeling.

I drove through two more very sketchy storms before getting home and we ran to unload the pigs. THEN the warning came through and I checked the weather site and saw someone posted THAT thing. I’ve heard of some damage already… hoping everyone is safe.

Tornados TERRIFY me. I was shaking so bad when I got home.

The pigs seemed super chill and unloaded well, no worse for wear. Ignorance is bliss!
