This November, we are bringing the w**es of Moldova to Geneva’s w**e exhibition, held as part of Les Automnales at Palexpo.

Whether you already know Moldovan w**es or are curious to taste them for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you, sharing a glass and meeting you at Arvinis Palexpo Genève.

It’s fondue season again! 🫕

Melted cheese, crusty bread, tender potatoes and cornichons — a Swiss classic for cooler days.

And in the glass? A fresh white w**e with lively acidity to balance the richness of the cheese. How about a Moldovan Fetească Regală or Fetească Albă? 🥂

Orange W**e Day 🍇

Orange w**e is made from white grapes, but unlike most white w**es, the grapes are left in contact with their skins during fermentation. This skin contact gives orange w**es their characteristic amber-to-copper colour, along with more texture and structure.

Equinox 5 Elemente Orange, a blend of five white grape varieties — Chardonnay, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Riesling and Pinot Gris — is a good example of how the same white grapes can produce a very different style of w**e through a different approach to w**emaking.

This weekend, Moldova celebrates National W**e Day: a whole weekend dedicated to w**e, w**emaking and the culture that surrounds it 🍷

Held every year on the first weekend of October, this is not simply a w**e festival. Across the country, w**eries open their doors to visitors, while in Chișinău the main celebration brings producers, w**e lovers, food, music and cultural events together in the heart of the city.

And this year, the celebrations came with a world-record moment: 493 people formed the world’s largest human image of a grapevine in Chișinău, officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.

It is one of those weekends that gives you a very good reason to put Moldova on your travel calendar 🇲🇩

Harvest is only the beginning.

Once the grapes leave the vineyard, the rhythm changes: sorting, destemming, crushing, pressing, maceration, and soon, the first signs of fermentation.

The vineyard gives the grapes their starting point. In the w**ery, careful decisions begin to shape what they will become 🍷

Harvest is underway in Moldova 🍇

At Crama Mircești, months of growth and careful work culminate in a few intense weeks in the vineyard. Grapes are hand-picked at the right moment, sorted and carried in, marking the beginning of a new vintage.

Harvest is a reminder of everything that comes before the w**e reaches the bottle: the vineyard, the people, the choices and the patience behind every vintage.

Have you ever tasted Viorica?

This aromatic white grape variety was created in Moldova in the 1960s and has since become one of the country’s distinctive white varieties.

Floral and expressive, Viorica is one of the grapes that gives Moldova its own voice. Sometimes, discovering a country starts with discovering a grape you have never heard of before 🍇

International Cabernet Sauvignon Day 🍇

Bold, structured and unmistakable, Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world’s most celebrated grape varieties. Known for its deep colour, firm tannins and notes of blackcurrant, cedar and spice, it can express itself very differently depending on where and how it is grown.

Moldova is no exception.

W**e Treasures has 5 w**es featuring Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend: one rosé and four reds, ranging from elegant and fruit-driven to richer and more structured styles.

On 27 August 1991, Moldova declared its independence.

Today, Moldova celebrates not only the country it became, but also the identity, traditions and people that continue to shape it. W**e is part of that story, deeply rooted in the country’s landscape and culture and increasingly carried beyond its borders.

Happy Independence Day, Moldova. May there always be reasons to discover, celebrate and be proud of what comes from here 🍷

What does Moldova taste like?

Perhaps, in part, like Fetească Neagră. One of Moldova’s best-known local varieties, it has been cultivated in the region for centuries and today appears in everything from elegant, fresh reds to richer, more structured w**es.
