International Cabernet Sauvignon Day 🍇

Bold, structured and unmistakable, Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world’s most celebrated grape varieties. Known for its deep colour, firm tannins and notes of blackcurrant, cedar and spice, it can express itself very differently depending on where and how it is grown.

Moldova is no exception.

W**e Treasures has 5 w**es featuring Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend: one rosé and four reds, ranging from elegant and fruit-driven to richer and more structured styles.

On 27 August 1991, Moldova declared its independence.

Today, Moldova celebrates not only the country it became, but also the identity, traditions and people that continue to shape it. W**e is part of that story, deeply rooted in the country’s landscape and culture and increasingly carried beyond its borders.

What does Moldova taste like?

Perhaps, in part, like Fetească Neagră. One of Moldova’s best-known local varieties, it has been cultivated in the region for centuries and today appears in everything from elegant, fresh reds to richer, more structured w**es.

International Pinot Noir Day 🍇

Pinot Noir is one of the world’s most celebrated grape varieties, known for its elegance, finesse and ability to express the character of where it is grown. Moldova has its own Pinot Noir story.

Today, we are celebrating with a Blanc de Noir Brut Nature from Crama Mircești, a traditional-method sparkling w**e made from Pinot Noir that shows the variety in a distinct style, with vibrant freshness, fine bubbles and delicate mineral notes.

Sometimes, home can travel in your hand 🍷

A bottle of w**e can carry a sense of place with it, like this small-scale multi-vintage Fetească Neagră from GOGU W**ery, bringing together three harvests: 2021, 2022 and 2023. Twelve months in French oak add further layers, while preserving the character of this emblematic Moldovan grape.

A vineyard’s quiet transformation 🍇

Across Moldova’s vineyards, véraison has begun, the moment when grapes begin their journey from growth to ripening.

Red grapes gradually change colour, while white grapes soften and become more translucent as sugars, aromas and flavours slowly develop. It is one of the most anticipated stages of the growing season, bringing the harvest one step closer each day.

Every great w**e begins long before it reaches the cellar, with patience, care and time.

Shiraz Day 🍷

Today, we celebrate Shiraz, a grape variety known around the world for its depth, character and elegance.

In Moldova, this international variety is crafted both as a varietal w**e and as part of blends alongside local grapes. 5 Elemente Black from Equinox VieVin brings together five varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Rară Neagră, Fetească Neagră and Malbec, each contributing its own aromas, structure and character to the final w**e.

More than a w**e, it reflects Moldova’s evolving w**e identity: a country where international varieties complement local grapes, creating w**es that are both distinctive and unmistakably Moldovan.
