*SHOCKING: YOUNG GIRL COMMITS SU***DE AFTER FAILING BEPC EXAM*

A young student in Bafousam has reportedly committed su***de after hearing she has failed the BEPC examination for the second time.

According to reports, she wrote a farewell later and handed it to her younger sister, informing her that, she intentionally added rat poison into her food, and knew she was going to die.

On discovering contents on the letter, her mother rushed her to the Bafousam regional hospital for emagency medical attention. But unfortunately, dispite all efforts, she didn't make it.

The young girl was laid to rest yesterday Friday in Bafousam.

This once again raises our attention to the trouma some students pass through after failing public exams. Parents, gaudians and school counselors have the responsibility to prepare the minds of students to know that, if they fail an exam, it's not the end of the world. And they still have many chances to try again.

*UB Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Sakwe Masumbe Dies*

The University of Buea has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation, Professor Peter Sakwe Masumbe.

According to family sources, Prof. Masumbe passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Yaoundé General Hospital after a prolonged illness. His wife, Dr. Mrs. Charity Masumbe, confirmed the sad news.

His remains have been deposited at the Yaoundé General Hospital Mortuary, with funeral and burial arrangements to be announced later.

Before his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Masumbe served as the University's Director of Students' Affairs. He was widely respected for his contributions to Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, and university administration.

His passing marks the loss of a distinguished academic and administrator whose service left a lasting impact on the University of Buea and the higher education community in Cameroon.

Mr Achoh Henry Kangson, a staff member of the Mill Hill Missionaries on St John Foncha Street, Bamenda, left the Mission House at about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, and has not been seen since.

Mr Achoh Henry Kangson is usually in the company of Rev. Brother Huub and is a native of Njinikom, Boyo Division.

His family, friends, and colleagues are deeply worried and are appealing to the public for any information that could help bring him home safely.
