𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡

Someone once said, "If you fail to plan, you have just planned to fail".

Write a Farm Action Plan for the year. Here are 7 pililars that you need to cover in the Action Plan.

Use the acronym "HARVEST", to help you memorize this.

1.🔹 H- Human Factor. Start with your farm employees. Plan for recruitment, training, staff welfare, motivation, performance review & rewards.

2.🔹 A - Asset Base. Invest in your infrastructure. Resuscitate vandalized assets. You obtained it, but can you maintain it?

3.🔹 R - Return on Investment. How can you make more profit from the same plot? What leakages need mending?

4.🔹 V - Value. If you cant go for volume, go for value. If you cant go extensive, go intensive.

5.🔹 E - Effectiveness & Efficiency.

If you are growing the right crop, you are effective.

If you are growing the crop right, then you are efficient.

6.🔹 S- Seasonality. How can you maximize on the seasons? What can you grow off-season? How can you shorten or lengthen your season.

7.🔹 T - Target Market. Don't you need to upscale your market? How best can you widen & deepen your reach?

For your Action Plan to be effective, it should be specific rather than generic. Write clear timelines for each of the 7 pillars.

If you feel like giving up, read this:

1. This is a Phase.

Tough times are just a phase.
They don't last forever.
Life is a cycle of highs and lows.

Remember, this too shall pass.
You're in the middle of the storm now, but clear skies are ahead. Hold on.

2. You Are Stronger Than You Think.

Never underestimate your resilience.

- You've survived 100% of your bad days.
- Inside you, there is an inner strength.
- Your potential is greater than any problem.

Remember, you're stronger and more capable than you believe.

3. Small Steps Count.

Progress isn't always a leap forward.

Sometimes it's tiny, almost imperceptible steps.

Each step, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goal.

Celebrate every bit of progress. Slow and steady can still win the race. Keep moving forward.

4. Remember Your 'Why'.

Think back to the reasons why you started.

Reconnect with your motivation and your goals.

5. Failure is a Stepping Stone.

It's okay to fall but it's important to rise again.

Every setback brings learning opportunities.

Remember, every great success story involves overcoming obstacles.

Keep going. Your story is being written.

6. Practice Self-Care.

Self-care is essential, especially during tough times.

- Eat nutritious food
- Exercise regularly
- Get adequate sleep
- Connect with loved ones
- Engage in activities that bring joy.

It’s not selfish, it's survival. Your well-being matters.

7. It's Okay to Ask for Help.

Remember, you're not alone in this journey.

- Reach out to friends, family, or professionals
- Open up about your struggles
- Seek support when you need it

Strength isn't just about enduring in silence. It's also knowing when to ask for help.

To my friends and readers,

Fight for yourself. No matter how difficult it becomes, never let yourself give in.

After some time, your spark will eventually return.

You will come out happier, healthier, and wiser.

We are in this together.

WHY YOU SHOULD SOAK SEEDS BEFORE PLANTING

In nature, seeds encounter different conditions. The weather can be hot or cold, wet or dry, or your seed may live in a bird or small animal’s stomach for a while. Life is not gentle on seeds.

So, in nature, rainfall washes away the inhibitors, allowing the seed to eventually germinate. It does take some time for this to happen. If you soak seeds at home before planting, you wash away the inhibitors faster and speed up this process.

Soaking seeds is one of the best ways to increase germination rates.

HOW DO YOU SOAK SEEDS?

Soaking seeds is easy! All you need is a bowl of water and seeds. Fill up your bowl with hot, tap water, around 32 degrees Celsius. Put your seeds into the bowl, and let them stay in there as the water cools down.

Some seeds prefer hotter water, and some prefer cooler water. It’s best to research each individual seed before soaking the seeds.

HOW LONG TO SOAK SEEDS BEFORE PLANTING

Farmers need to know how long to leave seeds in water. You can over soak a seed, so you can’t leave them in the water and come back in five days. You never want to soak for more than 48 hours. The recommended soaking time is 8 to 24 hours.

WHAT ARE THE BEST SEEDS TO SOAK?Some seeds you might want to soak are:

Squash
Pumpkins
Corn
Beans
Peas
Chard
Beets
Cucumbers
Sunflowers

Don’t soak little seeds, such as lettuce or radishes. They don’t reap the benefits, and wet, small seeds are hard to handle.

Examples of seeds that you don’t want to soak include:

Lettuce
Radishes
Carrots
Spinach
Turnips
Celery

PLANTING SEEDS AFTER SOAKING

After you soak your seeds, make sure you plant the soaked seeds immediately.

One way to make sure this happens is to put the seeds in water the night before.

Make sure you plant seeds in moist, but not wet, soil. Planting seeds in moist soil keeps the shells soft and encourages faster germination.

Half of our happiness is determined by factors other than biology.

10% is connected to “life circumstances” and the other 40% percent is dependent on our life decisions.

You have to put on the shield of faith and remember the decisions you make today, will lay a foundation for your tomorrow.

If you make reckless decisions, chances are you may end up accusing successful people for your poor future

You're the only driver on the highway of your life. Get busy with your life and let the results speak

POULTRY HOUSING

A successful poultry farming starts with having a well ventilated and spacious poultry house (s) for shelter. Suitable poultry house construction and infrastructure play a big role in the success of a poultry farm. If you are just starting a poultry farming business, housing and infrastructure are some of the major factors and costs you have to consider and establish before getting your first batch of birds onto the farm.

The housing should be done right depending on the ecological conditions of where one is living to reflect the climate of the place. If not correctly done poor housing may lead to failure and frustrations due to high losses, frequent disease outbreak, below bar production level, overcrowding and poor ventilation.

The house should have a right height depending on the system adopted, right roofing, this means not construction of an expensive house but whichever structure built should have enough space, be well ventilated, capable on shielding birds from harsh weather conditions.

Suitable poultry houses are important for efficient production and management.

Choice of chicken housing should be based on cost, durability and usage.

I once asked a very successful woman to share her secret with me.

She smiled and said to me..

"I started succeeding when I started leaving small fights for small fighters.
I stopped fighting those who gossiped about me...
I stopped fighting with my in laws...
I stopped fighting for attention...
I stopped fighting to meet peoples expectation of me...
I stopped fighting for my rights with inconsiderate people...
I stopped fighting to please everyone...
I stopped fighting to prove they were wrong about me...
I left such fights for those who have nothing else to fight...

And I started fighting for my vision, my dreams, my ideas and my destiny.

The day I gave up on small fights is the day I started becoming successful & so much more content."

Some fights are not worth your time.....

Choose what you fight for wisely.
