Every time we visit Malaysia, we go ALL IN on the food scene, and this trip was no exception! From Indian, Nyonya, Hakka, and Malay flavors to incredible street eats, here’s what we indulged in:
Suria Bhavan– A South Indian feast! Their Murtabakwas crispy and flavorful, the Rojak had the perfect sweet-spicy balance, and the Garlic Butter Naan with dips was simply divine.
Ikan Bakar Jalan Bellamy– If you love seafood, this is a must! Grilled fish, prawns, and squid served with some of the best sambals we’ve ever had.
Fried Cempedak —Right after our seafood feast, we found an amazing spot for fresh, crispy fried cempedak—sweet, crunchy, and absolutely addictive!
Atlantic Nyonya Restaurant – Not only did we enjoy some delicious Nyonya dishes, but we also stocked up on sambals like Ikan Bilis, Sos Ulam and Cili Garam to bring home to Germany!
Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu– Hands down to one of the best Nasi Lemak spots in KL! That fragrant coconut rice, crispy anchovies, and rich sambal were chef’s kiss.
Of course, Village Park’s Nasi Lemak is another classic we always love.
Restaurant Hor Poh - We wanted to try something different, so we went for authentic Hakka cuisine here and had Lui Cha (Thunder Tea Rice). A super healthy, herbal, and flavorful dish that’s definitely a must-try for foodies!
Kafe Lemak - check my previous post
Homemade Comfort – Back at home, we made our own Butter Kaya Toast and half-boiled eggs to relive the flavors of Malaysia.
With all these amazing eats, it’s no surprise that Malaysia is one of our favorite food destinations in the world! If you love bold flavors, this country is a paradise.
