Internationale Arbeitsgemeinschaft zur Förderung von Pilzwiderstandsfähigen Rebsorten
Associazione per la promozione delle varietá di vite resistenti ai funghi In the past few years more and more fungus resistant grape varieties have been planted all over the world - many of them experimentally. Wine producers have to work together
with research institutions to get a better understanding of which fungus resistant varietal would match best the diverse microclimates of each wine growing area. With our help these experiences can be exchanged internationally. It is our goal to inform wine producers not only about the benefits but also about the legal aspects of growing and making wine out of fungus resistant varietals. Since 2011 we organize a yearly competition in which wine producers are allowed to present their best PIWI wines in a traditional wine tasting. The best products will be awarded medals. In addition to this competition we do attend the state fair “Bio – Fach” of organic products in Nürnberg, and the Intervitis Interfructa in Stuttgart, Germany where the awarded wines will be presented to the public. All in all, we want to inform wine consumers about the quality, sustainability and the goodness of PIWI produced wines!

DE - Ziel und Zweck der Arbeitsgemeinschaft ist es, wissenschaftliche und praktische Erkenntnisse auf dem Gebiet der pilzwiderstandsfähigen Rebsorten auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene auszutauschen und Anregungen zu geben. Es sollen vor allem mit diesen Sorten arbeitende Praktiker unterstützt und gefördert sowie neue hinzugewonnen werden. Unter anderem werden zu diesem Zweck periodisch Tagungen oder regionale Arbeitskreise durchgeführt, die hauptsächlich die Weinbaupraxis aber auch die Beratung und die Wissenschaft ansprechen. Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft kann als Informations-Netzwerk für pilzwiderstands-fähige Rebsorten betrachtet werden.

IT - Come gruppo di lavoro transnazionale – PIWI International – si intende come piattaforma di scambio nella quale far confluire esperienza, conoscenza, idee, concetti e dove ognuno può imparare dall’altro. Negli utlimi anni sono state messe in produzione sempre più varietà PIWI. Inizialmente solamente in via sperimentale, in maniera da garantire ai produttori, in stretta collaborazione con i vivaisti e gli istituti di ricerca, di individuare le varietà più adatte alle caratteristiche regionali. In fondo non è solo utile che i viticoltori vengano informati sull’esistenza di varietà PIWI, bensì che gli si possa pure indicare la varietà più adatta alla loro zona e non per ultima la cornice giuridica alla quale fare riferimento per produrre con varietà PIWI. Dal 2011 PIWI International organizza a cadenza annuale anche il “INTERNATIONALER PIWI WEINPREIS”, dove vengono premiati i migliori vini da ottenuti da varietà PIWI a livello internazionale. Inoltre siamo presenti alla Bio-Fach di Norimberga e alla INTERVITIS di Stoccarda, manifestazione questa, nella quale verranno presentati e premiati i vini vincitori del concorso. Non per ultimo la nostra attività si indirizza anche sempre di più ai consumatori PIWI, che stimano sempre maggiormente questi ottimi e sostenibilissimi vini.
