Last year we harvested at in the breathtaking Cinti Valley — and nothing could have prepared us for it.
Here, vines don’t grow in neat rows.
They climb.
Some of the oldest vines in Bolivia grow wrapped around local trees, twisting their way up Molle and Chañar trees. These are ancestral systems, untouched by modern vineyard geometry. Figs, olives, apples and quinces stand nearby, shaping this wild landscape.
Harvest looks like this:
🍇 Teams of 2–3 people
🔎 Searching for the right variety — because different grapes are planted together, without apparent order
🪜 Carrying long ladders from tree to tree
🌳 Climbing high into tangled branches
You kneel. You squeeze through vines. You climb higher than you probably should.
And even then, some clusters remain at the very top — left behind, simply unreachable.
We left scratched, sunburned, and with a few “that was close” moments.
But more than anything, we left in awe.
This is not just viticulture.
It’s living history.
And every bottle that comes from Cinti carries that wild, untamed spirit within it.
Thank you to our friends at Jardín Oculto for the warm welcome and unforgettable experience. And to my harvest partners and — Thank you for the support, literally. I loved climbing those trees with you.
