Why aren’t we pickier about the things we touch every day?

I’m Layla, co-founder of Piper. No formal design training. One Red Dot Design Award with Piper Oudo 💁🏻‍♀️

Pepper grinders out there were precise, or pretty.

Sometimes neither. never both.

So we built the one that’s both.

We just needed it to exist.

(and yes — the matching salt grinder is coming. Need to sell more pepper grinders and pepper first, then we get there 💪)

Tis the season for the love of lemons 🍋

zest + juice into saucepan.
add eggs + sugar. whisk.
medium-low heat, stir until thick.
off heat: butter. cool.
top with coarse pepper.

((we used unreleased pepper: tropical forest + citrus peel🤫))

Good on toast, pastries, or eaten straight like small dessert off the spoon with a bold twist.

Devil Wears Prada 👠 tea party, under adult schedule:

We were supposed to rewatch the first film for nostalgia and prep for the sequel… then got distracted by snacks, goss, and the kind of catching up that actually matters.

Anyway these bold, slightly devilish bites with pepper were surprisingly good:
😈 smoked cheese, cod fish strips + pep
😈 plum, greek yoghurt + pep
😈 crackers, sour cream, cherries/chili snack + pep

These were slightly off but worth a try:
👿 milk pudding, sesame paste + pep
👿 guilinggao (the black jelly) + pep

Of course there was also ‘s favourite pepper infused negroni 🍷

Nope we haven’t watch the movie 😅

Which birthday cake is your thing?

We want to celebrate our birthday all week, but startup life is soooooo hard that we can only share some AI-generated pepper cakes for inspiration 🫠 We hope some of you have time to take these ideas and celebrate on our behalf 🥹

The cakes might be fake, but the satisfaction of a fresh grind of pepper on our grinder is 1000% real.

Needless to say, we swear by adding fruity aromatic finishing pepper on cakes or any creamy dessert.
