There’s more to the story than what we can see on the surface.
Autoimmune conditions, anxiety, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, skin problems…
What if symptoms & disease aren't just physical?
Your body and mind aren't separate systems.
Chronic stress and the way we cope with difficult emotions can affect how our nervous, endocrine and immune systems function.
Research has found associations between emotional suppression, chronic stress and poorer health outcomes.
In this society we so often we learned to disconnect from what we feel..
And your body listens to everything you DON'T express. When you suppress emotions-anger, sadness, even joy...
your body keeps score.
All of it signals to your nervous system that you're in a battle.
And over time, your body starts to reflect that struggle.
But here's the good news: Healing starts when you stop fighting yourself. When you allow your emotions to move through you instead of locking them away.
Your body listens to everything you think and feel.
Somatic work starts by rebuilding that connection.
Not forcing emotions out.
Not blaming yourself for your symptoms.
But learning to notice what's happening in your body, allowing emotions to be felt safely, and becoming curious about the patterns underneath.
Because the first step isn't asking:
“How do I get rid of this symptom?”
It's asking:
“What is my body asking me to pay attention to?”

*I am not saying that not expressing emotions cause the autoimmune diseases, but it can be a factor, based on these studies, that seems to relate to the risk of developing symptoms on your physical health
