Community Support Needed This Summer for Our Food Pantries
As we move into the summer months, we are asking for our community’s help to protect and support our local food pantries serving our military community. Both Patch Pantry and Panzer Pantry exist to support individuals and families who may need a helping hand—and they only work when we all do our part to care for them.
Unfortunately, both pantries have recently experienced repeated vandalism and misuse during times when volunteers are not present. These actions create additional work for our already limited volunteer teams and take resources away from the families these pantries are meant to support.
To the young people who may be responsible: these pantries are here for your neighbors, classmates, teammates, and fellow military families. Please help protect them—not damage them.
Here’s how you can help:
✅ Be extra eyes and ears around pantry areas and encourage respectful use of these shared spaces.
✅ Talk with your children and teens about being good stewards of community resources and shared spaces.
✅ Volunteer! Both pantry teams are stretched thin, and we urgently need additional support this summer for stocking, organizing, monitoring, and maintaining the pantries. Even a small amount of time makes a difference.
Patch Pantry, located at the chapel annex, relies on our community to help us remain good stewards of the space entrusted to us. Panzer Pantry, housed within another military facility, also depends on community care and respect to continue serving those who need it.
If you are interested in volunteering or helping in another way, please reach out to [email protected].
Together, we can keep these resources available, welcoming, and protected for everyone who relies on them.
Thank you for supporting our military community.
