🇧🇪 Brasserie Cantillon : Sang Bleu 2026. 6% ABV. Lambic blend with blue honeysuckle, or haskap, berries.

Yet another beautiful beer for a great pre-dinner drink. Look at that color 😍.

Super fresh and fruity, slightly more acidic than last year's batch but still good. Red berries, Lambic, Tart really nice and refreshing.

🇧🇪 De Struise Brouwers : Twenty Two Anniversary Ale 2023 . Belgian Stout with Mystery Barrel Aged From Struise Brewery. 14% ABV.

At the moment, our evenings are a bit on the cooler side actually, the weather is absolute rubbish to be honest, haha. We can definitely get away with a slightly stronger beer. I wanted to see how this beer evolved with a hidden barrel-ageing.

Round, comforting, caramel, malt, dried fruits, woody, and look at that, a little hint of smoke and a great alcohol finish. When it was younger, I was thinking rum, but here I'm leaning more towards a lightly peated/smoky whisky. It’s a tricky one to figure out.

🇧🇪 Bières De Chimay : Chimay Jaune. Belgian Blond 6,5 % ABV.

A little family tasting of the new Chimay. Perfect for summer, refreshing, and great for sharing.

🇧🇪 Brasserie Cantillon : Saint Lamvinus 2025. Fruit Lambic 7,5% ABV. Two year old lambic macerated with Merlot, Grenache Noir and Syrah grapes.

And here’s a little Cantillon. On a hot, muggy day, it went down incredibly well.

Here’s another well-balanced Lambic: nicely managed acidity with a massive dose of grapes and grape skin, slightly tannic and vinous. Well-oaked, and just a little bit funky. Finishes dry, fruity, and slightly tart. This is a real treat to drink.

🇧🇪 Bières De Chimay : Chimay Grande Réserve 2014.
Belgian Strong Dark Ale 9% ABV.

Here is a beautiful bottle from 2014. It’s always amazing to get to taste a beer that’s over 10 years old.

Still has great carbonation and head retention. It’s smooth, caramelly, and very lightly roasted. It has cellared beautifully with those classic oxidized/maderized notes, and dried fruits are definitely present too. This was a real treat.

🇧🇪 Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen : Druif Dornfelder Saison 19 /20 Blend N°30. Fruit Lambic 9% ABV.

Huge heatwave in Belgium, we've hit 30 degrees. You have to find every possible trick to cool down.

And this Lambic, despite its 9% ABV, does the job perfectly. Very fruity, notes of grape, crisp with that classic Lambic character and a beautifully controlled acidity. It's woody, slightly tannic, and has a dry finish. I drank it quite chilled, and it was an absolute delight.

🇧🇪 Brouwerij De Halve Maan : Straffe Hendrik Wild 2026. Brett Beer 10% ABV.

Hear ye, hear ye, everyone! Here is the new Straffe Hendrik Wild 2026.

We’re looking at another beautifully bretted beer, built to evolve over time. Full-bodied at first, fruity, with notes of yeast, Brett, and funk—it’s already a great brew even when fresh.

🇧🇪 Brasserie D'Orval : Orval 2021. Pale Ale 6,2 % ABV.

🇧🇪 Brouwerij De Meester : Maître Brut Wild Turkey Infused. Brut beer 10%ABV.

Time for a quick aperitif beer, anyone? I really enjoy this fresh yet potent style.

This offers the lovely sparkling quality of a brut beer, with a sweetness that remains well-balanced. It has a great ye**ty character and fruity hints of grape and light citrus, ending on a subtle note of vanilla and bourbon. It was pleasant and very sessionable.

🇩🇪 Blech.brut : Purple Lines Of Thought. Imperial Stout aged 36 months in Bourbon Whiskey barrels. 11,4% ABV.

Here is a little wax-dipped can that I’d forgotten on my shelves. Well, it was a real pleasure to taste. And thanks to my little guy for helping with the photo 😂. A new influencer is born.

Beautiful thickness, very well-controlled sweetness, lightly roasted, woody, with bourbon vanilla. Pretty simple, but honestly, it does the trick.
