🐝 CALL FOR RESEARCH COLLABORATION — EGYPTIAN DWARF HONEY BEE
At Reefy Healthy Foods & RFIL – Reefy Food Innovation Lab, we are opening a call for collaboration with researchers, universities, laboratories, and research centers interested in the conservation, ecology, relocation, and settlement of the Dwarf Honey Bee (Apis florea, subject to scientific confirmation) in Egypt.
During bee-rescue operations from homes and buildings, we encounter colonies that are often removed or exterminated because there is currently no established pathway for their scientific rescue, relocation, monitoring, and long-term settlement.
We believe this represents an opportunity to build something different:
Bee Rescue → Scientific Identification → Relocation → Settlement → Monitoring → Research → Biodiversity Conservation
🔬 Areas of collaboration
We are particularly interested in researchers working on:
• Entomology & Apiculture
• Pollinator Conservation
• Bee Genetics & Biodiversity
• Ecology & Sustainable Agriculture
• Bee Health & Disease Monitoring
• Urban Biodiversity
• Pollination Systems
• Habitat Restoration
• Sustainable Bee Management
🌱 What we want to build
We are exploring the development of an:
🇪🇬 Egyptian Dwarf Bee Biodiversity & Settlement Program
with the potential to establish a scientific database documenting:
Colony → Location → Species → Habitat → Season → Floral Resources → Behavior → Health → Relocation → Survival → Reproduction
The long-term vision is to move from simply removing bee colonies from buildings to creating a scientifically managed system for rescue, research, conservation, and sustainable settlement.
🤝 We are looking for partners
We welcome conversations with universities, research institutes, laboratories, entomologists, beekeeping researchers, biodiversity organizations, and scientists who can contribute expertise in:
Species identification | Genetic analysis | Field monitoring | Relocation protocols | Habitat design | Bee health | Biodiversity research
If you are working on Apis florea, dwarf honey bees, pollinator conservation, or related research in Egypt, we would be very interested in connecting.
Our objective is simple:
«Not to collect bees — but to understand them, protect them, and develop a scientifically responsible pathway for their settlement in Egypt.»
📩 Researchers and institutions interested in collaboration are invited to contact Reefy / RFIL.
