Cadiolyse is happy to be part of the team of the I-CARE Study

Patients who have had AF-related ablation surgery are at a higher risk of early recurrences of atrial arrhythmias. There are 9000 atrial fibrillation ablation procedures in England every year. Patients require a significant amount of care for 12 weeks post-ablation with regular visits to the hospital and GP surgery, often at short notice. Patients spend many hours waiting or traveling for ECGs and other tests.

To reduce the burden on the patient and the healthcare system, Oxford University Foundation Hospitals Trust (OUH) are testing an exciting Cardiolyse app. Patients install the Cardiolyse app on their smartphone and wear a device that links to the app. The easy-to-wear device takes ECGs and analyses the results instantly. It then sends the information directly to the cardiac team. Patients then receive a user-friendly report on their heart risk level, and their doctors receive a comprehensive report from the app. A traffic light system on the app will identify any critical risks as a red alert and the patient can immediately be admitted to the hospital without lengthy delays. It is hoped that findings from this research will improve patient outcomes and lead to the use of the Cardiolyse app more widely across the NHS.

Today is the last day of World Heart Rhythm Week.

Throughout the week we have been supporting Arrhythmia Alliance campaign by sharing information to raise awareness.

By sharing our posts you’ve helped to raise awareness around the
world. Let's continue working on this mission!

What is Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)?
Supraventricular tachycardia is a condition where your heart suddenly beats much faster than normal for a few minutes or sometimes several hours.

Although supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is usually not harmful, it can be life-threatening if you have heart damage or other heart conditions. In severe cases, SVT may result in unconsciousness or cardiac arrest.

If you experience a very fast heartbeat for the first time, or if an irregular heartbeat lasts longer than a few seconds, call your health care provider.

How to prevent SVT?

— Avoid caffeine and alcohol
— Consider keeping a diary to help identify your triggers
— Track your heart rate, symptoms and activity at the time of an SVT episode.

What can you do to prevent heart disease?

1. Don't smoke
One of the best things you can do for your heart is to stop smoking or using smokeless to***co. This is because the chemicals in to***co can damage the heart and blood vessels.

2. Exercise
Daily physical activity is associated with a lower risk of heart disease. Physical activity helps you maintain a healthy weight, and can also reduce your chances of developing other conditions that may put a strain on your heart, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes.

3. Healthy diet
Limit intake of salt, sugar, processed carbohydrates. alcohol, and saturated fats (found in red meat and full-fat dairy products) and trans fat (found in fried fast food, chips, baked goods).

4. Maintain healthy weight
Carrying extra weight, especially around the waist, raises your risk of heart disease. Excess weight can contribute to conditions that put you at greater risk for developing heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes.

5. Sleep well
If you're not getting enough sleep, you're putting yourself at risk for some pretty serious health problems. Make sleep a priority and make sure you're getting at least seven hours a night.

6. Manage stress
Finding alternative ways to manage stress — such as physical activity, relaxation exercises or meditation — can help improve your health.

7. Do regular checkups
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol levels
- Type 2 diabetes screening

We are pleased to announce that our first application to the EIC Accelerator has been successful! Our proposal met all of the criteria at the remote evaluation stage, and all four experts gave us high evaluations. We are excited about the feedback we received, and we are confident that our team's diversity — which covers both technical and business aspects — will help us achieve a high rank in terms of scale-up potential and potential impacts in the healthcare industry.

They also appreciated our high degree of novelty and timing and our potential to make a big impact in the healthcare industry. We are so excited to have been ranked so highly in all these areas!

We're looking forward to October, when we can submit a full application and (fingers crossed) receive a grant from the EIC Accelerator program to cover the costs of innovation development.

We know it's Monday and it's a complicated day as it is, but we still have to start this discussion. You already know that Cardiolyse is a remote patient monitoring platform for heart health.

But what do you know enough about heart health in general?
How often someone suffers or even die of CVDs (cardiovascular diseases)? How much world economy spends on treating , and ?

We asked our Chief Business Developer Officer Normunds Daudiss to give us some perspective on this. It's not a piece of light-hearted information, but to solve a problem we first need to face it, don't we?
