The Board, Management, and Staff warmly welcomed our new CEO, Mr. Apen*sa Korodrau, to FMIB at the Nakasi Abattoir (Head Office) on Friday 20th March 2026.

Mr. Korodrau brings with him a wealth of experience across multiple sectors, including auditing, banking, government ministry roles, and the manufacturing industry. Notably, he previously led the Internal Audit of the Fiji Pine Group, showcasing his strong leadership and financial expertise.

The official welcome was marked with a traditional ceremony, reflecting our respect for culture and unity as we embark on this new chapter under his leadership.

FMIB Team, led by the Board Chairperson, Director Batirokomoro, along with the CEO and Management, were part of an insightful presentation and discussion forum organized by Response Group Australia in partnership with the Pacific Australian Skills Team.

The session highlighted exciting plans in meat works training to be organized at the FMIB's abattoirs. This initiative aims to equip Fijians with the skills and accreditation needed in the meat processing industry, promoting self-sufficiency, sustainability, and opening pathways to employment opportunities in Australian meat processing facilities.

FMIB remains committed to supporting initiatives that empower individuals through skills development and create meaningful employment opportunities.

The Fiji Meat Industry Board’s Vuda Abattoir was thrilled to commission its newly built Training Room and Administration Office on 26 February 2026.

The building was officially opened by the Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Sugar, Hon. Tomasi Tunabuna.

Constructed through a Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Grant from the Ministry, the training room will serve as a dedicated space for structured learning, staff upskilling, occupational health and safety programmes, food hygiene and quality assurance training, leadership development, and collaboration with industry partners.
