One question I get asked all the time in summer: ‘Where can I get ice? 🥵’
Because when you’re exploring a new city in the heat, a cold drink with plenty of ice can make all the difference 🧊❄️♥️

10 Hours in Bordeaux 🇫🇷 - Cruise Ship Edition 🛳️

This private experience was born from a request from past clients.

You’re travelling on a cruise ship and your itinerary includes a 10-12 hour stop in Le Verdon-Sur-Mer
(2 hours drive from Bordeaux 📍)

You would like to see as much of Bordeaux as you can but it seems like a challenge, right?

I created this experience for those who are tired of sharing the shuttle bus and the activities with the rest of the cruise ship, and would rather enjoy a private, personalized day, at their own pace.

But, what’s included? 💭

📍Pick up and drop-off in Le Verdon-Sur-Mer 🛳️
🚘 Private transportation throughout the day in a Mercedes Benz Van (VTC licensed chauffeur included)
🍷 A visit to a prestigious Classified Growth Château
🚶🏻‍♀️A guided visit of Bordeaux and its fascinating history
🥐 A Gourmet Food Tour (full of 🇫🇷 and local delicacies)
🥂 A private wine tasting to discover Bordeaux wines
🛍️ Free time to pick some special souvenirs to enjoy during the rest of your trip.

Does this sound like you?

If you are looking for a specialized Bordeaux experience during your cruise stopover, look no further!

This summer 2026, we need you.
Please, visit Bordeaux and support the Gironde ❤️‍🩹

The past two weeks have been incredibly difficult for our region. Devastating wildfires have burned through thousands of hectares, forcing the evacuation of thousands of people and leaving behind unimaginable losses.

I would like to thank both my past and future clients who reached out to check on me and my family, sent kind messages and kept us in their thoughts. Your support has meant more than you can imagine.

The situation in the affected areas is now more stable, but there is still a very long road to recovery.

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to the thousands of firefighters, locals and from across France and other European countries, who came to help, as well as the farmers, local communities and volunteers throughout the region.

It is amazing and truly inspiring to witness this outpouring of solidarity 🙏🏽

Finally, I’d like to ask anyone planning a trip this summer, to please, please continue to visit Bordeaux and its beautiful region.
As you know, tourism is an essential part of our local economy, and your visit can make a real difference. By supporting local wineries and producers, exploring our coastline, dining in our restaurants and enjoying our wine bars, you are helping families, small businesses and entire communities recover from this disaster.

Thank you again for your kindness and your support ❤️‍🩹

5 things to avoid doing in Bordeaux this summer 2026 ☀️

Are you travelling to Bordeaux this summer? 🗓️

Here are 5 things I would avoid doing 🤷🏽‍♀️

1. 🏨 Booking accommodation without air conditioning 💨

As you may already know, Bordeaux has experienced three heatwaves in the last three months (May, June and July), with temperatures easily reaching 40C (105F).

The beautiful architecture of the old city wasn’t designed for this kind of heat, and unfortunately, air conditioning isn’t available everywhere.

Choose your accommodation wisely 🙃

2.🚊 Staying on the Right Bank:

Bordeaux’s tram network is undergoing major renovation works.

The Pont de Pierre is closed from June 23 to August 28, 2026. If you decide to stay in districts such as La Bastide, Cenon or Belvédère, be prepared to use a bike 🚲 or walk🚶🏻‍♀️to cross the river.

These renovation works are expected to continue over the next couple of summers.

3. 🚘 Driving in the city center ❌

Everyone knows Bordeaux can be a bit challenging to drive in.

You basically have the whole combo: Restricted traffic in the historic center, really tight parking spaces and expensive car parks. If all of that doesn’t scare you, go for it!

Otherwise, I’d recommend leaving your car on the outskirts of the city and using public transportation to get around.

4.🍴Not booking restaurants in advance:

While many restaurants accept walk-ins, plenty of others are extremely popular with both locals and visitors.

If there’s a restaurant you really want to try, it’s always best to make a reservation in advance 📞 This, especially applies to Monday, the toughest day to find a restaurant open!

5. 🕚 Not checking restaurant service hours:

Many cities around the world have restaurants that serve food continuously throughout the day. Bordeaux isn’t one of them 😅

Most restaurants serve lunch between 12:00 and 2:00 pm, while dinner service usually runs from 7:00 pm until 10:30 or 11:00 pm.

Please be considerate to the staff and avoid arriving just 10 minutes before the kitchen closes 🥹

And you? Do you have any tips on things to avoid doing i

Contáctame para más información 💌

🇬🇧 Between winery visits, personalised full day tours, and wine tastings, I still manage to make time for private guided city tours.

As many of you know, Bordeaux is once again in the middle of a heatwave (with temperatures soaring above 40°C - 105F) 🔥

So, what’s the best way to explore the city without melting? Start early in the morning! ⏰🚶🏻‍♀️

This lovely family from Madrid 🇪🇸 got in touch with me to be their guide around the city.
Together, we explored Bordeaux’s oldest neighborhoods, its most iconic landmarks, and the stories and legends that make it one of the most fascinating and important cities in France.

Would you like to enjoy a private tour that’s tailored to your interests and at your own pace? Away from the crowds, the microphones, and the constant noise that often comes with large group tours?

Where to eat in Bordeaux? 🇫🇷🐌🍷

Bouillon des Quinconces is the perfect spot to have a quick lunch/dinner while exploring the heart of the city.

Located right across from the Quinconces tram stop 🚊

Quick & friendly service, good quality French food, offering typical dishes as snails, bœuf bourguignon, etc.
And your furry friends 🐶 are welcome too 😍

We were too full for dessert but we’ll be back!

Have you tried it already? 🤔

Your feedback matters ♥️✨✍🏽

People often underestimate how powerful words can be, especially for small business owners like us at Bordeaux Tours & Wine.

Long before we meet, we’ve already spent months planning your experience together.

We exchange emails & calls, answering your questions, and carefully crafting a day that reflects what you’re looking for.

Then, finally, we get to meet 😊
We spend the day exploring the beautiful Bordeaux region together, learning, discovering and tasting 🍷

I have the privilege of sharing my passion for wine, introducing you to places I love, and creating memories that I hope you’ll carry home with you. And when it’s time to say goodbye, my biggest hope is that you’ll leave already thinking about coming back to discover even more.

That’s why your words mean so much.

Whether it’s a review, a social media post, or a recommendation to friends and family, every kind word has an impact far greater than you might ever imagine.

“How?”🤔 you may wonder…

Your feedback helps people discover us, gives future guests confidence in choosing us (among so many others!) and allows a small family business like ours not only to survive, but to grow.

To every client who has taken a few minutes to leave a review ⭐️ or share their experience: thank you. Your kindness, your honesty, and your support mean more than words can say.

You remind me why I love what I do, and you inspire me to keep sharing the magic of Bordeaux, with every single one of you ✨

Thank you ♥️
