Loire Valley Llama Farm is 17 acres of meadows, woodland, forest and beautiful gardens. Perfectly located in our own valley at the end of a quiet rural lane; locals have named us “The Valley of the Llamas”. Surrounded by stunning countryside and forests, our unique llama farm is perfect for exploring our local towns and villages, and also the nearby cities of Le Mans & Tours.
We offer a variety of comfortable and quirky accommodation. Whether you opt for the Llama Lodge, converted from the ancient wine press, enjoying its own kitchenette and private shower; or prefer to glamp in one of our thoughtfully positioned luxury belle tents with proper beds, Egyptian cotton bedding and solar power; or maybe a stay in one of the two comfortable rooms in the old barn. Whichever you chose, it is likely that you will find yourself spending relaxed evenings, warmed by the fire pit and overlooked by the starry skies of the Vallee du Loir.
Sarah & Nigel delight in welcoming their guests to enjoy the nature and peace of their tranquil farm. Whilst you listen to the chatter of llamas cooling off in the pool, the children can earn their llama farmer diploma, becoming deputies at feeding time, learning the care of our animals and any other farm jobs that needing the willing hands of a llama farmer cadet.
A 10 minute drive from the farm brings you to Chateau du Loir, there you will find supermarkets, traditional cafes, shops, a creperie, pizzaria, takeaways and tobac bars. From our gate you have immediate access to plentiful forest walks, bridleways and off road trails; the farm is nestled in a valley in the Forêt de Bercé. Visit one of the many Wine Caves made famous by the Loire Valley Wine route. Hire a bike and experience the Vallee du Loir a Velo. Spend a day mastering water sports at one of the nearby leisure lakes. Absorb yourself into the history of the Garden of France with it’s many Chateau’s, La Lude being one of the northernmost chateau’s of the Loire being just 20 minutes away. Explore Medieval Tours and the beautiful Place Plumereau, or visit the one of the most famous race tracks in the world… Le circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.
