The Alpacas Who Loved Rumac

The alpacas of Ardnamurchan were peaceful, floofy, and mildly obsessed with snacks. But one day, Fergus, their noble, slightly dramatic leader, heard a sound drifting over the sea from Ullapool.

An accordion.

Not just any accordion. Rumac’s accordion.

Rumac, the legendary Ullapool singer who could make seagulls weep and goats dance a jig. The alpacas were instantly smitten. They played his tunes on a solar-powered speaker, formed a tribute band called “The Bellows,” and practiced dramatic humming for his arrival.

When Rumac finally visited, accordion in hand, the herd lost their collective minds.

Fergus fainted. Comet the sheep tried to marry him. One alpaca knitted a scarf mid-song, just from excitement.

Rumac played a reel. The alpacas danced like fluffy maniacs. He played a waltz. They swayed like wind-blown laundry.

He ended with his hit song “I Lost My Sandwich at the Ceilidh”, and the alpacas gave him the highest honour: a ceremonial tuft of hay.

Rumac now tours nowhere but Ardnamurchan. And the alpacas? They’re still his biggest fans, literally. They made T-shirts.

Out of fleece.

Still attached to themselves.
