Out with the old, and in with the new!
Our community group are still looking for volunteers to help with the improved access boardwalk project. If you can carry stuff, they want you! 🫵
A big step forward for access at Lunan Bay today!
The old, dilapidated boardwalk has now been completely dismantled and removed, making way for a new and improved access boardwalk to the beach and viewing platform.
Pictured is Lunan Bay Communities Partnership Chair, Andrew Matthews, standing beside what remains of the boardwalk that served visitors to Lunan Bay for more than 20 years.
The improvement project is being facilitated by Lunan Bay Communities Partnership (LBCP), with funding from NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation and the full build is expected to take around 6-8 weeks.
🙌 Volunteers wanted
We would be very grateful for some extra pairs of hands throughout the build. If you are able to help with moving, carrying and lifting materials, even for a few hours, we would love to hear from you. There will be opportunities to volunteer at different stages over the coming weeks, so please send us a message if you would like to get involved.
⚠️ Temporary access change
The area where the old boardwalk stood is currently inaccessible while landscaping and construction work gets underway. In the meantime, please access the beach using the paths at the north end of the car park.
Thank you to everyone for your patience while the work is carried out and to all those already helping to make this important improvement to Lunan Bay possible.
We’re looking forward to seeing the new boardwalk taking shape!
