Well a mixed bag competing yesterday at Duckhurst! Keeley & Thunder (who spruced up amazingly) were foot perfect in the Inhand Veterans and Mountain & Moorland. Ava and Lenny well, they parted company in fairly dramatic style in the 50cm ... (twice) but went on to get a CR in the 60cm (all be it with Dad jumping the course with her) which was more to regain some confidence back and then Lottie and River .... well they were placed 3rd in the 70cm and only went and WON the 80cms in very strong form! A typically horsey day here at RSE with tears and smiles in equal measures. A really great day though despite Dad almost passing out after the 60cms! We learn the most when it goes wrong! A day very much to remember!

A very settled team of horses here at RSE today. Perhaps the quiet before the storm of the weekend ahead with .... three out competing tomorrow and another out at clinics with lessons ahead too. All RSE liveries have their focus 🙂👍💪

I am very pleased to say that Oli @ RSE is now a TROTT trails agent. This allows all liveries of RSE to get a 10% discount on their TROTT membership which enables access to the Pluckley TROTT trails (hacking distance from the yard) via quiet country lanes and Bridleways. It is imperative that we respect Farmers Land so that we can look to extend these routes and in turn respect their livelihoods. We are also happy to allow visiting boxes/trailers to park and access these TROTT routes from our yard. A small yard donation would be welcome but not expected but all visitors would need to show Oli there TROTT bands. All enquiries through Oli on 07896 773855.

Well we have been busy this weekend but a huge mention for Ali Ferry and her horse Bumble!! I can assure you that this is a partnership that has absolute potential and Bumble is by no means a 'straight forward' horse however .... his qualities far outway any minor niggles of which he is in the best hands with Ali Ferry!! We are delighted to have them both on our yard here at RSE and absolutely enjoy supporting where we can!! Today has been another step in the right direction and it's genuinely a priviledge seeing another step forward!! Amazing job and thanks again to Chart Court and SMP for another great event and trip out!! (short video in comments) 🙂👍💪

Yesterday we welcomed the 8yo 'Shadey' onto the RSE yard coming in on training/competition livery and being owned by the fantastic Sarah Whitex and family. Shadeys plan is to initially settle and manage a couple of minor handling areas but to focus on flatwork, response and fitness. Shadey has competed to Newcomers/1m10 and is scopey, brave and bold but will return to the BSJA circuit in due course and hopefully achieve consistency up to Discovery level to begin with. Yard Manager Oli believes he's a 'Foxhunter/1m20' horse (and potentially a little more) which will be his long term objective but fitness, considered management and consistency will be the key. What a fantastic member of the team. Good luck Shadey 🙂👍💪!!

Off to her first 'real' show today at Chart Court, Pluckley. A great 40cm (although getting 4 faults through a 'slight loss of direction') and .... a very respectable clear round in the 50cm with Lenny (aka Double Diamond)! Control was the name of the game and control was pretty much .... achieved! I suppose Dad needs to start getting out there again! • Full horse day to day management
• Exceptional, FT onsite yard & horse knowledge and experience
• All shavings (incl)
• All Hay (incl)
• Basic feeds supplied (but all feed accurately prescribed)
• Daily grazing
• Three schools (incl indoor)
• Horse walker
• Good, quiet hacking
• Secure environment
• Storage (within reason) and secure tack room
• Knowledgeable liveries onsite
• Schooling/excercising (if required)

A thought about horses:

Sometimes we just expect everything to go right, all of the time and on 'demand.' We ask our horses to conform; do as we ask and go where we want and; invariably they do! Horses give us owners, loaners and yard managers more than we give them credit for. We can take them for granted. They give us a purpose and a project though and more importantly another partner .... in horse form. I have always said, our best tool is 'time' and 'patience.' Working through areas organically, patiently and correctly is the journey. Have a goal. Stick to it and the partnership will get there. Thats where the real win is won. We're lucky to be on that journey.
