Though the farm may be closed to visitors next week, normal routine for the animals will still continue.

Duck and Goose have been particularly happy with the warmer weather and have gone back to sleeping outdoors at night rather than in their shed.

Can you believe Goose is nearly the same size as Duck now! 😮

A reminder that as of today we are now signing off for the next week for Farmer Callum and Laura’s wedding.

For anyone who hasn’t yet experienced the magic of a care farm, we hope this video gives a glimpse of what we see every day…

Imagine being a child who struggles to thrive in school, but one day each week arrives at the farm as part of an alternative provision package to be welcomed by people who truly understand them. Perhaps they choose to spend the afternoon in the peaceful woodlands with their best friend, Del the goat. They might play in the mud kitchen with curious goats eagerly “helping” by taste-testing creations — and occasionally knocking a few over along the way. 🫣

Now imagine the feeling in their body: the calm replacing the stress they usually carry. The slowing down. The sense of safety, connection and belonging.

That’s the magic we find in care farming.
A regulated nervous system, built through nature, animals, understanding and gentle connection.

🌸 Welcome to Lilcott Farm 🌸

Nestled just outside the village of Atherington in beautiful North Devon, Lilcott Farm is a dedicated working care farm where connection, growth, and wellbeing come together.

Run by farmers Callum and Laura, we offer animal-assisted therapy sessions and alternative provision—creating a space where hands-on learning meets the calming, grounding world of farming.

Our team also includes the wonderful Kat, who supports our farm sessions and offers private play therapy here on the farm, alongside the lovely Karen, who provides both farm-based sessions and counselling in this peaceful setting.

Together, we’ve created a supportive hub of therapeutic opportunities, with something to suit a wide range of needs.

We currently have a small amount of availability for new clients—something that’s quite rare here on the farm.

Not only do we love the look and smell of our large flower patches, we’ve also all been enjoying watching the benefits they bring to our local pollinators and discussing how important bee’s are.

Farmer Callum and his helpers have begun researching what we’d need to do to get bee’s of our own here on the farm one day, a project lots of us are enthusiastic about 🍯🐝

This Saturday 2nd May, it’s time for our slightly bigger budding farmers to take the spotlight at Lilcott Farm Club 🚜

Perfect for children aged 3–8 years, this is their chance to roll up their sleeves, get hands-on, and experience real farm life! From meeting and engaging with our animals 🐐 to exploring and playing in our farm spaces, it’s a morning packed with fresh air, fun, and discovery.
