Hello everybody,
It’s time for a little ramble from me, which I haven’t done for a while!
Firstly, I want to put aside the break-in last night. Fortunately, it wasn’t too bad, and the support we’ve received today has far outweighed any negativity.
Before I say anything else, I want to say a huge thank you to our customers, friends, fellow businesses, and everyone who has reached out with messages of support. It genuinely means a lot.
I also want to say a special thank you to my staff. They do an amazing job every single day, often without the recognition they deserve. Some of them live with hidden disabilities and challenges that most people will never see. Yet they turn up, work hard, support each other, and do their best every day.
One thing that is very important to me is giving people opportunities. I want every member of staff to have a positive experience, build confidence, learn new skills, and hopefully move on to bigger and better things in the future if that’s what they choose to do.
Please remember that behind every person is a story. We never truly know what someone may be dealing with, what challenges they have overcome, or what battles they are fighting quietly. A little patience, kindness, and understanding can go a very long way.
This post is really about our local business community.
One thing today has reminded me of is that together we are stronger. Running a business can sometimes feel lonely. We all have days where we wonder if we’re doing the right thing, whether we’re working hard enough, or why another business seems busier than ours. The truth is, most of us probably feel exactly the same way from time to time.
I’m a big believer in being honest and open. There have been times when I’ve looked at another business and thought, “I wish we were that busy.” But what we see from the outside is only a snapshot. Just because somewhere looks busy when we walk past doesn’t mean that’s the full story. The same applies to us.
What I’ve learned is that there is room for all of us. Room to grow, room to succeed, and room to thrive. Every business brings something different to our town, and that’s what makes our community special.
I’d also like to thank the local businesses who reached out, checked in, offered support, or simply showed kindness today. Those small gestures mean more than you probably realise and are a reminder of why I love being part of this business community.
To all local business owners: keep going. The long hours, worries, and hard work are something we all share. Let’s continue supporting one another, celebrating each other’s successes, and helping make our town centre somewhere local businesses can thrive together.
And finally, to our customers, thank you. Every visit, recommendation, comment, share, and word of encouragement makes a difference.
