🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You from the Catering Team at Walney School 🌟

As our Year 11 students reach the end of their GCSE exams and their time at Walney School comes to a close, we would like to say a huge thank you to the lovely Year 11 girls for the beautiful gifts, flowers, chocolates, biscuits and thoughtful cards presented to the catering team. 💐🍫🍪

Your kindness and appreciation mean so much to us. It has been a pleasure serving you throughout your years at Walney School, and we are truly touched by your generosity.

We would like to wish all of our Year 11 students the very best for the future. Good luck with your exam results and whatever exciting opportunities come next. We hope you look back on your time at Walney School with fond memories and know that you'll always be welcome to pop in and say hello!

After impressing Mr Costa with the persuasive letters we wrote to him, he visited us in class today with Mrs Beach who oversees all the kitchens and menus across Furness Education Trust. We have helped to plan some different menus for Healthy Eating Week which is coming up in June. It's going to be a great opportunity for us to try some new foods.

🎉 End of Year 6 SATs – Done and Dusted! 🎉

What better way to celebrate all your hard work, focus and effort over the past few weeks than with a massive, delicious breakfast feast? 🥓🍳 We stacked the table high with sizzling sausages, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, golden hash browns and soft, fresh buns – and it tasted even better knowing it was all to cheer you on!

You’ve put in so much time and energy, approached every challenge with such a great attitude, and done yourselves proud. Well done, guys – you absolutely smashed it! This is just the start of all the amazing things you’ll go on to achieve. Enjoy every moment of this well-earned treat and every celebration ahead! 🥳

🍽️ Today’s Delicious Roast Dinner!

We served a proper classic roast to everyone at Parkside School today! 🎉
The full menu included:

✅ Sliced gammon ham
✅ Homemade crispy roast potatoes
✅ Creamy mashed potato
✅ Light Yorkshire pudding
✅ Fresh seasonal vegetables
✅ Rich, tasty gravy

This photo shows the lovely portion served to Parkside Nursery – the rest of the school enjoyed exactly the same delicious meal too! Plates were well and truly cleared 😋🥔🍖

Our pack lunch option at Parkside and Lamps was created following suggestions from our amazing parents 💡

We worked hard to expand our sandwich choices while staying on a budget and to help lunchtimes run much smoother.

Each pack includes:
✅ Sandwich
✅ Packet of ready‑salted crisps
✅ Cookie
✅ Rotating 4th item: fruit, raisins, yogurt, or salad — such a lovely balanced touch!

Please note: Due to keeping the pack lunch affordable and helping service run smoothly, a cookie is the only sweet option we can include each day for now. Thank you so much for your understanding! 💛

Chicken in rich chicken gravy served with creamy mash potato and a quarter of a baguette 😍

We have slightly tweeked it since it was on 3 weeks ago. Yarlside academy and Newton academy

Comfort food done properly and already proving popular with our students! Perfect for comfort food and packed with flavour.
