ASYMMETRICAL 04
Wrought iron clad 80CRV2 / stainless / G10
Another of the new experimental ‘faceted’ handles in red and black . Fully asymmetrical with a 180 grit satin finish. I have internationally left all the sanding lines in to give a bit more texture and interest to the handle look
The balance is very slightly back weighted for the length of blade (almost perfect but about 1/4” back from where I would like it to be) as the G10 is so dense - going to work out a system of getting weight down but the same volume
More experiments in the works but liking this new approach - very un-knifemakery (?) but like where it’s going.

More exploration into faceted asymmetrical handles - this time for an 11” slicer - which has turned out nice
Quite tricky to get the balance right while still making it asymmetrical… and I didn’t expect there to be so much white !
Learning how to stack the colours to get the best results is interesting
More investing needed but liking the direction these are going in

FACETS & COLOURS
A bit of experimentation with these EDC’s . Asymmetrical handles finished to a 180 grit so I can still see the grind lines - just something I’ve been playing around with
By no means perfect but something in there that’s interesting
Both are 5layer laminates with multi-coloured G10 frame tang handles - much inspired by The Man

BOWL
11” cold forged stainless steel
This one took sweat !! Using a old small ball pein hammer that was slightly pitted gives a lovely texture … but a lot of hammering to cover the whole surface
Came out nice thought … .

Gates, railing, sculpture, lighting and hardware were my stock and trade for about 18 years
The ‘sunflower’ gate was a small piece commissioned by my wife’s family for their garden in Norfolk 17 years ago
Looks even better now that it’s aged … .

PLATE no. 28
This texture is called ‘CRISSCROSS’ - forged using a double cross pein hammer that must be at least 100 yrs old
Indents in the face of the pein created a unique pattern
304 stainless. Forged and pressed with custom@tooling on the 25T.
