Foodful At Foodful, we aim to shine a light on food & drink localism in the Scottish Borders & Northumberland. We're open Fri 9am-1pm and Sat 11am-4pm. Local produce.

We're based at the Meantime Workshops, Unit 5, North Greenwich Rd, Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed, TD15 1RG. Local producers. We work with local producers to bring the best of Northumberland & the Scottish Borders with a mind of bringing back seasonal & local eating. With various national polls suggesting that people want to support local businesses & eat better and locally. Our shop in Spittal has f

resh produce in weekly, including sourdough loaves, milk in glass pint bottles (which can be returned to be recycled & reused), veg, fruit, eggs, cheese & yoghurt. This is alongside other local favourites & staples such as tea, coffee, nut butter, preserves, cold-pressed rapeseed oil, honey & soft drinks. The Foodful shop is open Thursdays & Fridays 9.30am - 12.30pm & Saturdays 11am - 4pm. Our online shop is always available. Foodful is a project that looks to the future. We have a vision of people’s shopping habits changing, with a more reflective look on food and drink. Not only in terms of animal welfare, but reducing food miles, valuing the taste of fresher food and supporting the local community. We see this as a 21st century food standard.

What’s the plan?

The initial aims of the foodful project are simple. We want to do our best to help promote local food and drink producers based in either the Scottish Borders or Northumberland. We first plan to do this by giving every producer a basic listing on the foodful producers directory.

We expect these listings to be a little sparse to begin with. So, if you are a local producer, we encourage you to get in touch to supply more information and photography for your listing. Similarly, if your business isn’t currently listed or if you would like your listing to be removed please contact us by emailing; [email protected].

During this collaborative process of working with local food and drink producers to build on and improve each listing, we plan to be continually adding informative and engaging articles to the foodful blog. These articles will cover all aspects of local produce and producers in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. This will help drive traffic to the foodful blog and in turn to each individual business listing, helping increase exposure for each local food and drink producer.
