A fun and happy day this week visiting Alex Award winning hand made fudge to mull over all things fudge and 🍯. No surprise that the lady behind our award winning Manuka Honey Fudge is a sensational cook so lunch was delicious too! Seed loaf from Dominique Ludwig Nutritionist MSc (who we are both excited to see Benham Park Events on 30th September Eat Nourish Love (ENL) Events & Collective - link in bio for tickets) . Here is Alex with her Great Taste Awards wall of fame - 28 I think?! Correct me Award winning hand made fudge if I’m wrong. It was fascinating to see the fudge kitchen and packing area. An impressive setup. Also a little R&D on her new protein bites 😋 (delicious) and a little something new for our range … all in a days work 😉 🍯. Thank you Alex, a great day 🙏.

Not such a tough evening in the office 🍯 and a family holiday in my favourite place seemed the perfect opportunity to trial our Manuka Christmas Cocktail recipe… valuable feedback from our discerning panel; a few tweaks and we’ll have a new recipe card for you. Thank you all for your dedicated support of Manuka Direct and to who inspired this little gem and kindly trialled it too

I’m absolutely over the moon to share the wonderful news that we have been awarded Great Taste Awards for all three grades of our honey!

Great Taste is a highly esteemed accreditation scheme organised by the Guild of Fine Food.

The tastings are blind and the panels of judges are made up of chefs, food writers, retailers and all sorts of foodie professionals.

Although most of you say that you choose our Manuka honey for its authenticity and provenance it’s also incredibly important to know that it tastes fabulous too!

A flying visit to restock one of my favourite shops in the world in Trebetherick, your summer holiday can now be complete; sun, sand, surf and thankfully your favourite Manuka honey too! Trebetherick store was buzzing yesterday and I’m not surprised, they have everything you need 🏖️ please keep pics coming! I love having a bit of me there 🍯

Another sunny day and one of my most lovely, loyal and longstanding customers has just reminded me NOT to to be tempted to put honey in the fridge during this warm spell … it can ruin its smooth creamy texture by forcing crystallisation. Keep your liquid gold away from sunlight in a dark cupboard. Enjoy the sunshine and your honey 🍯

Hack of the day? 🤷‍♀️ I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a friend washing up her Manuka honey pot to recycle (yes throwing Manuka honey down the sink!) so here’s what I do…

1. Allow boiled water to cool to lukewarm.
2. Half fill empty ‘finished ‘ honey pots.
3. Swill round (lids on) until clean.
4. Use ‘honey water’ aka ‘liquid gold’ for soaking overnight oats, making drinks, sweetening pretty much anything.
5. Recycle

Please tell me you do this too! If there’s any leftover I keep it in the fridge. 🍯

I am so looking forward to seeing this beautiful garden tomorrow and catching up with the lovely people of Hampshire ; there’s a cookery demonstration by the world’s finest , a plant sale, wine by and some carefully curated shopping! If you’re anywhere near Stockbridge this is one not to miss. Ashley Manor, SO20 6RQ from 9.30am - 3pm tomorrow. Home made cakes and coffee. Plant Sale, head gardener on site. In aid of CPRE. Very much looking forward to seeing you 🍯 🪴

What a brilliant couple of days at Rodmarton Manor last week, a huge thank you to the committee for organising such a wonderful event and of course the owners of the 20 truly magical gardens who generously opened in aid of Tetbury Hospital. Rain did not stop play; hardy gardeners sported a stylish array of galoshes and big smiles. Lots of old friends and an equally hardy gang at Rodmarton made for a triumph all round. I was delighted to meet Hamish Mackie who brought his magnificent Highland Cow, Rachel Golding Barrett - flower farmer and dahlia plants for all things dahlia, George with BEEBLE Foxley Road Nurseries and Carol Wilson with her beautiful china. Well done everyone for making it the enormous success that it was 🪴 🪏 🍯 Book early for 2028!
