There are days on the farm that I wish we could just bottle… We’re so proud of the team effort involved with making some great first cut silage over the last couple of days, on top of the usual milking, fence moves for the herd and the heifers and milk bottling. So far it’s been a pretty dreamy spring. A little on the cool side which has pushed back our magic day (when grass growth rates matches the feed demand of the herd) but we’re on track. First cut and maize drilling next week, nicely tying in with the kids going back to school!

After years of him wearing us down, Josh (our eldest,11) finally convinced us to have a couple of tame lambs for HIM to rear and in with a penny…we have 2 weaned large black piglets too. Fair play, Josh is a really committed dad to the lambs - not missing a beat. It’s been a fun packed Easter hol with the kids coming up with no end of business plans for their new ventures. Happy days

2026 silage is a go! 45 acres off the grazing platform that’s got ahead of the cows made in glorious conditions and in the clamp on 8th April…..utter madness! It was 23 degrees here yesterday. Great to have the flexibility to do this in house now we have the wagons to play with. 120T beautiful leafy, well chopped, sticky, top quality gear. Only another 4000T to go…. ☀️ 🌱 🐄
