Well it has been a slightly eventful and busy start to the year and with only 10 days to go until our first lambs are due to arrive this snow has given us a whole heap of extra work to keep us busy!
For the moment the ewes are still outside (we can't be accused of spoiling our pedigrees😉) as it is taking us a little bit longer to get our lambing pens set up. Tilly had a bad fall at the farm after Christmas and is now completely out of action with a broken foot. She won't be mobile for at least another six weeks which means the rest of us not only have extra work to get through but one unlucky family member will have to take on Tilly's job of setting up the plumbing system to the individual lambing pens. Something we all usually avoid! As Tilly is also the member of the team with the skinniest hands our Beltex lambing could be fun this year! (If you don't know what I'm talking about count yourself lucky!) We've already told her she might be getting wheelbarrowed to the back of a ewe in an emergency 🤣🤣🤣
That's me getting back on to stories now if you want to keep updated with what will definitely be a more chaotic and sleep deprived lambing time than usual!
