🍺 Well… this is a bit surreal! 🤯

From sipping beers in local pubs to chatting all things hops, flavour and food pairing on BBC News South… what a journey it’s been! 🍻

A couple of years ago I set myself a challenge to become a Beer Sommelier. There were plenty of beers tasted (all in the name of research, of course! 😉), lots of studying, one setback, and eventually that magical pass. Now seeing my story on the BBC is something I never imagined.

A massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way, whether you’ve liked a post, watched a video, come to a tasting, shared advice or just joined me for a pint and a chat. This really does mean the world.

And don’t worry… I’m only just getting started. Plenty more beer adventures, food pairings and brewery visits are on the way. 🍺❤️

You’ll try 7 distinctive beers plus 1 wild card brew, from smooth and malty to bright and hoppy.

What could be better than pairing great beer with the ultimate bar snack? The humble yet heroic crisp: Picture smoky bacon fries alongside a rich, roasty stout. A soft, bready wheat beer with sweet banana chips (banana bread, anyone?). Or the undisputed champion of crisps, salt and vinegar, stepping into the ring with the king of craft, the IPA.

It’s a match made in flavour heaven, perfect for aspiring beer aficionados, crisp connoisseurs, or anyone simply in search of a brilliantly fun night out.

Each beer will be expertly paired with an iconic crisp, showcasing just how magical beer and snack pairings can be when done right.

We’ll also explore how to taste beer like a pro, using simple techniques to help you pick out flavours you never knew were there.
