Glencadam Single Malt Whisky

Glencadam Single Malt Whisky Traditionally crafted since 1825 🥃 Glencadam Distillery opened in 1825, just one year after distilling on a large scale was legalised.

Our elegant and sophisticated Single Malt whisky is still produced in the same fashion as it was in 1825. The entire Glencadam range is non-chill filtered and free from added colouring. This retains the Whisky’s natural characteristics, ensuring aromatic components are preserved to enhance presence and flavour. Glencadam distillery is located about half a mile outside the ancient city of Brechin,

in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. We rely on the purest spring water from the Unthank Hills to create our delicate yet refined spirit. We have operated two pot stills at Glencadam since we began. The lye pipes on our stills run upwards at an angle of 15 degrees, which is most unusual. It is believed that this helps to produce the mellow character, which after maturation yields sweet and fruity notes. Enjoy responsibly, visit www.drinkaware.co.uk for the facts

An exciting day for Glencadam, as we announce another accolade for our award-winning range, this time receiving an International Wine & Spirit Competition Design Medal – Highly Commended in the Redesign & Rebrand category for our new packaging.

At the beginning of the year, we unveiled a new chapter for Glencadam, introducing packaging across the range that honours our 200-year legacy while telling the story of our distillery’s commitment to traditional handcrafting and heritage.

From the wooden stopper and bespoke bottle shape and water wheel base to the intricate illustrations and lettering, each detail has been carefully considered.

The result is a distinctive new look across the Glencadam range that brings the brand to the forefront while celebrating the character and craftsmanship that have defined the distillery for over 200 years.

This Highly Commended Design Medal recognises the new Glencadam packaging and rebrand, adding to an already impressive year of recognition for the range, with wins at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Scotch Whisky Masters.

From the East Highlands of Scotland to the heart of Seoul.

Earlier this month, Glencadam Distillery Process Engineer, Song Hoi Sun, travelled to South Korea to represent Glencadam alongside our South Korean distributor, Kaja Wine & Spirits.

Across a packed programme of events, Song took to the stage at Seoul Bar & Spirit Show 2026 and hosted a series of masterclasses for trade partners and single malt enthusiasts, sharing the people, process and traditions behind Glencadam.

With seven presentations delivered throughout the trip and an incredible response at every event, it was fantastic to see such enthusiasm for Glencadam in South Korea.

A huge thank you to Song and the team at Kaja Wine & Spirits, and to everyone who joined us along the way.

We’re excited to introduce even more people in South Korea to the world of Glencadam.

A triumphant weekend for Glencadam as we proudly sponsored the 2026 Bridge of Allan Highland Games.

Dating back to 1851, the games are a much-loved part of the local calendar, and we’re proud to continue supporting this fantastic event year after year.

Glencadam Master Blender Iain Forteath was there to represent the distillery and enjoy a brilliant day of Highland tradition, competition and community, alongside the crowds who came out to celebrate this longstanding event.

Here’s to another successful year of the Bridge of Allan Highland Games 🥃

Ongoing at Glencadam Distillery: the installation of the final two traditional Oregon pine washbacks.

As part of our long-term commitment to traditional whisky-making, we’ve been replacing each of the distillery’s stainless steel washbacks with handcrafted Oregon pine washbacks. Installed by hand at the heart of the distillery, this has been a carefully managed project spanning the past three years.

With the final two washbacks due to be completed this week, the project marks a significant milestone in preserving the traditional methods that have defined Glencadam for over 200 years.

These new wooden washbacks reflect the way single malt would have been produced when Glencadam Distillery first opened its doors in 1825, while continuing to support the character and quality of the spirit we produce today.

From August onwards, visitors to Glencadam Distillery will be able to see the new Oregon pine washbacks as part of distillery experiences.

Meet Toby, Glencadam's newest team member.

Toby joined the distillery alongside our new Distillery Manager, Will Stafford, and has already settled into life at Glencadam.

While he takes his role very seriously, it's safe to say his favourite part of the job is finding a sunny spot to relax.

Here are a few of our favourite shots of Toby enjoying a sunny day around the distillery.
