✨ REINTRODUCTION ✨

It’s been a year since I last posted on here, and had some much needed time out, so here’s some things that have happened in the last year…

1. Trying to get outdoors more…although we all know what the Welsh weather can be like 🌧️
2. I completed my first HYROX in June
3. I tried a Five Guys burger for the first time in my 24 years of living
4. Raced a Triathlon in September…which lead to me signing up to my first 70.3 this May in Alcudia, hopefully the weather will be nicer! ☀️
5. A foot fracture in October lead to a halt in most activities :(
6. A visit to always makes everything better (yes we finished off two pizzas between us, but yes we did have it for breakfast the next day)🍕
7. Went to Krakow for the first time and it was amazing, the Christmas markets and the food on offer was unreal
8. Moved in with my boyfriend and found our love of hosting
9. We adopted these two cuties, Maple & Pecan 🤍
10. Jumped on the reformer Pilates hype and absolutely love it!!
11. And enjoyed lots…
12. And lots…
13. Of good food 🍫🍔🍰🥙

Alongside this I was completing my studies and started a new job which has resulted in my now being a qualified AssocRICS residential surveyor, so all in all a very busy but such a fulfilling year, let’s see if I can handle some food content amongst it all again this year 😆💗

Now then…where’s some of your most recent food suggestions that I can jump back in with? 🍽️

🥞AHEAD OF THE GAME🥞

Another trip to was made recently, and it was just as good as the first.

I couldn’t help but go for the steak and eggs again, as they were just that nice, but me and Kally also shared a stack of their Nutella and strawberry pancakes, and oh my gosh, these were lush!! Kally even said the pancakes themselves tasted nicer than Haystacks 👀
I washed mine down with a white chocolate iced matcha which was really lovely!

I do think you get very good value for money here as the food is just that nice and it tastes super fresh. It only took us 27 minutes to get there from Caerphilly as well which went really quick, and the same as driving to Cardiff or Newport really!

I also purchased (not pictured) one of their pre made banana breads to take home for the next day and that was delicious too!

Really looking forward to going back again, it’s nice being and to eat out and facing good food whilst sticking to a plan and fitting it within my daily macros, maybe next time I’ll brand out from the steak and eggs (but they’re just too good 🤣)

🌯MEALS IN MINUTES WITH QUORN🌯

As someone who doesn’t eat chicken but has quite a high protein goal, I’m always looking for ways to add in that protein, especially on the days where I don’t feel like eating meat, and the pieces and mince are the perfect opportunities to do so, and I can have a meal ready in 10 minutes!

Here’s 3 very simple meals that I’ve made using quorn mince and pieces, perfect for a quick meal after a long day, or when you can’t really be bothered to cook!

1. Spag Bol
2. Mexi burrito
3. Sticky chicken and rice

What’s your go to quick meal after a long day?

🍳ROSITA’S SNEAK PEEK🍳

This weekend the Hyrox simulation event at my gym ( ) went off!! It was the first of its kind anywhere local and the turn out was incredible. Even though I didn’t take part (although it did inspire me so maybe one of the next events!) I went to watch some of the participants after doing my own thing, and it was amazing to watch everyone complete the stations and to see the support and strength of everyone was insane!!

To accompany the event, we had a real treat of previewing some of breakfast menu, and let me tell yous, it did not disappoint.

I went for the ‘Rosita’s Breakfast Roll’ which consisted of bacon, sausage, a fried egg AND a hash brown, in a brioche roll, and as yous all know, I’m a sucker for a hash brown. This was delicious and honestly one of the best brekkie rolls I’ve had.

If this is what the chefs can cook up in a gym kitchen, just you wait until they’ve got their own state of the art kitchen in which is set in Caerphilly town centre with stunning views of Wales largest castle 🏰

I cannot wait to see what else they bring to the table when they open next month! It’ll be a fab addition to Caerphilly😊

🐘THE THIRSTY ELEPHANT🐘

So I’ve been wanting to try for a while and yesterday me and took a trip down and here’s how it went…

When we arrived there was a small queue, but we had been warned of this as it does get busy, especially on the weekend, so this didn’t bother us too much as we expected it, plus they gave us menus we could look over whilst we were waiting.

Once we got inside, the decor and vibes in here were so cute and cosy, I enjoyed the cafe vibes it brought.

I had the steak & eggs with some mini hash brown, and Katie went for a veggie breakfast but swapped out a veggie sausage for a normal one. The food didn’t take long to arrive, but even if it did it was worth the wait! My steak was super tender and just cut like butter, and the flavour was lovely. Eggs poached to perfection and a proper crisp to the hash brown bites! The veggie breakfast also look fab, I did try some of the halloumi which was lovely, it wasn’t the squeaky kind which I appreciated, and Katie said it was a lovely breakfast too.

I’d like to go back and try one of their pancake stacks when I’m feeling something sweet, but there is definitely plenty of savoury options available too that I’d fancy trying as well.

One thing to bear in mind is it is a dog friendly cafe, so if you’re not a fan of dogs, just be mindful, otherwise the place was clean and service was fab!

Keep an eye out as they do pop-ups throughout the year, with coming up soon!

Have you been to the thirsty elephant before?

🍔What I Eat In A Day (WIEIAD)🍔

This is the not so glamorous but more realistic side of what I eat in a day when I’m not eating food out. I haven’t been out as much recently, January is hitting hard, so I thought I’d show yous all what I eat on a regular day.

Breakfast (image 3): plain Greek yoghurt, protein, granola, with blueberries and banana.
Lunch (image 2): this is definitely more boring, being a plain protein wrap with Philadelphia spread, iceberg, and honey roast ham
Dinner (image 1): cheeseburger bowl (except I forgot to buy yellow American style cheese and was left with this pale dairy lea🤣)
Dessert/snack (image 4): banana protein pancakes, with blueberries and raspberries with some maple syrup

I’m really trying hard to consistently hit 120-130g plus protein a day to hit some personal goals and I’ve definitely found it hard, especially as someone who doesn’t eat chicken, but sometimes you’ve got to find things that work for yous, even if that is a plain ham and lettuce wrap🤣

Hopefully this post is a little insight into a regular day of eating, but the more delicious content will still be weaving its way in so don’t worry!

🥣BREAKFAST AT HOME🥣

I enjoyed the cereal that was sent to me from Gifta so much that I had to go out and buy their granola to try and it is just as good! Again I went for the chocolate flavour because I do prefer a sweet breakfast.

I made this yesterday to take to work this morning, I start at 5am so there’s no way I’m getting up earlier than need be to make brekkie🥲

I paired the fuel granola with just regular low fat Greek yoghurt from Aldi, in which I mixed in a scoop of my chocolate peanut pretzel protein from along with a few of their white chocolate flavour drops. Then I topped it with some blueberries and a banana.

This had just over 40g of protein with and really enjoyed the chocolate and berries together, definitely needed on my break this morning and a great way to start the day!

❓Are you a more savoury or sweet breakfast person?

💪🏻AHEAD OF THE GAME NUTRITION💪🏻

I’ve definitely found my new favourite brunch spot down in Bridgend, who have also just reopened their spot down on Porthcawl also!

It only took me 30 mins from Caerphilly to get down here and o would 100% do that drive daily for this deliciousness!

I went for the steak and eggs on sourdough with peppercorn sauce, and added some hash browns because I couldn’t resist!!

Would you also believe me if I said this only had 436kcal (without the hash browns) and 38g of protein? 🤌🏻

This was so good and I cannot wait to go back! They also had a fridge full of meal prepped meals, wraps and goodies which all looked super tasty too!

🎄CHRISTMAS DAY🎄

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day and are still enjoying the festive period full of picky bits, cheeses and chocolates, I know I am!!

I could definitely eat this all over again, I’m missing the pigs in blankets already🤣🤣

Special mention to for having the dreamiest desserts once again🤩🤩

What’s your favourite part of a Christmas dinner? 🍽️🎅🏽

🏰TEN DEGREES AT MARKET STREET🏰

A few weeks ago I had my works Christmas meal and as always, it didn’t disappoint!

I went for the bolognaise arancini to start, which if yous haven’t tried before, get down there asap because it is STUNNING 🤩

I then went for the burger, and I really have to be in the right mood for a burger because it’s not usually my go to choice, but I’m super glad I had this. It was loaded up with two thin beef patties, which were cooked lovely, bacon, Caerphilly cheese, and bbq. It was the perfect balance! I thoroughly enjoyed this and would have it again. And of course, I couldn’t resist the Mac & cheese so I had that on the side, and it was definitely as good as it looks (see image 3).

is certainly a gem here in Caerphilly and it’s a must visit whether you’re a local or travelling through, it’s worth it!
