🎉 THE VILLAGE PUB QUIZ LEAGUE IS BACK! 🎉

We’re delighted to announce that Verity is once again happy to host our Village Pub Quiz nights! 🥳

Round 2 kicks off on Friday 25th September at 7pm at Moorland & Fordgate Village Hall — and we’d love to see lots of our villagers coming along to support it.

You don’t have to be a quiz whizz, and you don’t have to commit to the whole league. Come along for one night, bring your friends, make a team or join one when you arrive — it’s all about having a bit of fun, a few laughs and enjoying an evening together. ❤️

Teams can have up to 6 people and it’s just £3 per person, payable on the night.

Before we put on Market place we have two computer desks 160cm x 99cm longest width x 80cm at narrowest width (see photo). Also have a smaller one 140cm by 80cm. All in excellent condition. Also have 2 office chairs in reasonable condition. All free - self pick up.

Just a reminder that Fancy Fish and Chips are at the Moorland and Fordgate village hall from 1730 tomorrow (Tuesday). The bar will also be open so you can pop in for a quick drink and a chin wag while you wait for your supper or indeed eat it in the hall. Thank you to the Badminton club for working with us. Also don’t forget this Friday 14th we are also opening the hall from 6pm for a wind down to the week-end with chips, dips, cool librations and good company. Why not come along and support your hall and find out what is happening!

🤠💃 Would there be any interest in a Beginners’ Fun Line Dance Class? 💃🤠

I’m thinking of starting a beginners’ fun line dance class at Moorland Village Hall from September and would love to see if there’s any interest in the local community!

No experience needed at all — just come along, have a laugh, learn some easy dances and enjoy a bit of music and movement. 🎶😊

It would be a relaxed and friendly class, suitable for complete beginners and anyone who fancies trying something new.

Village Hall Defibrillator Update
Recent Removal & Reporting Protocol
The defibrillator was briefly removed from the village hall on 27th July. Thankfully, we believe it was not required and it has since been safely returned.
To help us manage the equipment effectively and ensure it is fully prepped and ready for any future emergency, please notify us immediately if the defibrillator is ever removed. Contact details in container or via Facebook.
Training Sessions Coming Soon
We are currently planning defibrillator and CPR training sessions at the village hall. Further details and dates will follow shortly.
Future Equipment Upgrade & Grants
Our current unit is approaching the end of its official support life on 1st December 2026. Given its age, advice suggests upgrading to a newer model with updated technology rather than extending its lifespan.
Replacement Cost: £995 – £1,495
Next Steps: We are actively investigating grant support options and discussing funding possibilities with the local council to minimise the cost to the community.
