Been playing with a new toy - xtool f2 laser engraver and pretty happy with how this came out! It's pretty bronze, orange and a little tint of purple.
The other side has blue, green and orange but it doesn't show very well in pictures.

Starting off the year a bit late, but strong with a fan favourite - Krushable!
This isn't going to be a straightforward Krushable batch though, I'm going to split it and do a test to see if some tweaks make it better or if the original is still the best.

Looking forward to getting feedback after it's packaged!

And that's a wrap! Last two batches of the year finally packaged.
Merry Berry 2025 - this year's blackberry with coffee blossom honey aged on amburana oak. This went down so well last year that I was told I had to do it again. Deep blackberry and honey with the baking spices flavours from the oak make this a very tasty mead for Christmas

and

Plum Noir - first time using plums - and lots of em! This was a much higher abv due to the plums having way more sugar that expected. It finished sweet so I didn't even have to add extra honey!

First use of the new glass.
Really cool to be able to just make this. Grateful to my wife for cutting and weeding the stencil for me so I could apply the etching to it.
Pacific Tangerine Sunrise Dream in the glass, have to say that it's aging quite well, the bitterness has leveled out quite a bit and it's a lot more pleasant than it was!

Finally got around to packaging the rest of Krushable's Revenge. This bigger portion of the batch got an addition of Hop Haze as I really want that hazy IPA look to stay present and I think it's worked pretty well! I've heard it smells like IPA because of the hops so I like saying "It's like IPA but tasty!" So it's cool to have it look kind of like one!

The previous little 5L would settle out so it's nice to know what I can get the look I want fairly easily.
It looks great clear as well though so we have options!

Bottled some of Krushables Revenge yesterday.
Revenge this time, as it was supposed to be about 6.2% but refermented on me. Anyways, Krushable is my attempt to get something that looks like a hazy IPA and has all the fruity flavours from hops but is dangerously drinkable.
Reviews from people yesterday that got to taste it were very positive, even though it's a bit more boozy than it should be, it's still very moorish!
Another 19L to package, but I'll likely be doing another batch of Krushable in an attempt to create it exactly how I wanted this batch to be!

Long day of packaging Honey, I Berried the Kids.
It's lucky that it's delicious or I might have just left it in a keg!

Tried out the new clear plastic cans on this batch which did cause some issues (not fully sealing, making some wasted cans that I had to rebottle instead)

But it's still so cool seeing the mead in the can - it is incredibly dark but very tasty and at 5%, a very easy drinker!

These labels were just ones I test printed a few weeks ago so the dates and the abv were wrong - the abv is fairly light on this batch, clocking in about 5%
It's very berry forward with tartness from honeyberries and balanced by sweetness from local wildflower honey.
The other 18-19L have gone back in a keg to spend some more time with Amburana oak (again). Hopefully next weekend I can clear can and bottle it!

A bit of aging too do still on
"Honey, I Berried the kids"
but I think it's going to be really interesting.
Scottish honeyberries, local wildflower honey and aged on Amburana oak.

Currently needs a bit more time to mellow and I need to figure out what to backsweeten it with, but it's going to be good!
It's so dark and so red I can't wait to bottle this batch, it's going to be super pretty.
