This outstanding pub and its landlord Captain Milky stepping up to the mark again 🫡. That Marble Rye is delicious and I can also personally vouch for Saturday’s artist Nick Steed. Great work all round, this is brilliant 👍👍 🍺

All 5 hand pulls matched up and working perfectly now at the Wilkes Head in Leek with our old friend Caskade drinking beautifully and all ales at the correct temperature thanks to a brand new cellar cooler. Superb joint effort between pub and brewery - just as it should be, fantastic ! 🍺 🫡

Welcome to the weekend. We can't compete with everyone who has outdoor seating/pub gardens etc, but its bl**dy hot out there and what we can offer is a cool(ish) dark space inside away from the heat when you feel you need it, with enough of a breeze pulling through the entire pub.
We've got cold lagers, cider, Guinness, etc to slake your thirst, as well as four of our regular ales alongside this week's special local guest Whim Hartington IPA (4.5%), one of our most favourite ales any time of the year.

RIP Dave 🙏 . He helped massively with promoting our beers very early on with his and Jeff Turner’s (Den Engle Leek) involvement with Potteries CAMRA in the 90’s and also obviously his and Kay’s pub the Blue Bell in Kidsgrove where Arbour Light, his favourite ale, was a permanent feature ! Cheers Dave, i hope you find a decent pint out there in the cosmos somewhere ! 🍺

On the evening of Tuesday 23rd June, friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate the life of Dave Washbrook.

Dave’s beloved wife, Kay, would love to be joined by those who knew him to share stories, memories, laughter, and a glass in his honour. It will be an opportunity to pay our respects, reflect on the many lives Dave touched, and celebrate the good times that will never be forgotten.

Whether you knew Dave for many years or only a short while, your presence would mean a great deal.

Superb setup and lineup outside and in at the Old Dog in Thorpe this weekend, so get over for a pint and a pork pie now the weather has turned nice 🍺 ! Tremendous effort by Ross and his team and all our beers in perfect condition as check by the head brewer 🫡 Thank you ! 🙏
