On Saturday evening we had the pleasure of presenting an evening of wine and food from the Americas.
We were delighted to be returning to this really lovely group of people for an evening of wine and food touring South America, up into North America and ending in Canada.
Here is how the evening unfolded!

Fizz from Brazil with Pao de Queijo (cheese bread)

Rosé from Argentina with Chicken Churrasco

Reisling from Chile with Paila Marina (fish stew)

Chardonnay from Peru with Huacatay Potatoes

Bonarda from Argentina with Chimichurri Beef

Tannat from Uruguay with Empanadas

Zinfandel from California with Smoky Beans and Pork

Ice Wine from Canada with warm Maple Syrup Sponge

We really enjoyed the evening so thank you to all who were there, it was such a pleasure, we love these evenings! Looking forward to the next one!

A few days away for plenty of wine and food orientated visits…:
Cobble Hill Vineyard to meet Rachel the head winemaker and vineyard manager for a tasting and chat as part of the research for a book on English wine and food pairings. Morning coffee at The Nest in Burnham Deepdale, lunch at The White Horse Bakery, crab rolls from the Crab Hut at Brancaster Staithe, a walk to, and dinner at The Ancient Mariner, and books and coffee at The Old School Bookshop in Burnham Market….plus much more with some exciting collaborations planned for future events…..news to come! www.wineanddine.org.uk

It is always a pleasure and a privilege to be asked to cook in someone’s house for them and their guests. I have been cooking for these lovely people for a few years now and it is always a joy.
Last night I cooked a Mezze starter of Spinach Borek, Chorizo with Prawns, Courgette Fritters, Tomato Bruschetta with Pomegranate Molasses, Hummus with Caramelised Onions, a Red Pepper and Walnut Dip and Homemade Bread.
Followed by Boeuf Bourgignon, Dauphinoise Potatoes, Leeks with Lovage, Peas à la Francaise and Roasted Cumin Carrots.
We finished with a boozy Ginger and Orange Trifle. Packed with stem ginger, amaretti biscuits and fresh orange segments.
Thank you to the lovely people and their guests. It was a really good evening!🥳
