In Spring of 2025, our Endurance E3120 wind turbine was shut down, due to a similar turbine elsewhere suffering a catastrophic failure. The best solution for us came from Rengineers, which resulted in a new BestWatt80 parts from Holland, being fitted to the existing Endurance tower and using the existing infrastructure. The switchover only took a days work, by an extremely efficient team led by Gerhard de Pater and Gerbrand Morren.
We’ve had a very positive experience so far with the new machine, seeing a higher output and less noise in comparison to the original turbine. Rengineers also offer a unique and comprehensive maintenance + repair package for a reasonable annual fee, which was a real selling point for us.
Gerbrand will be over in Caithness this month, so if any turbine owners have similar issues or are thinking about upgrading their machine, it may be worth catching up with him.
