After a couple of months of rest and some work to make the pen safe and secure again, our feathered friends are finally back outside! ✨🌻

The surviving ducks and hens, along with all our young pullets, have been enjoying the sunshine and making the most of the lovely weather this weekend. 🌿🌤️

With a bit of luck, they’ll be keeping us well supplied with eggs for you over the coming months! 🥚🤗

Happy ducks with fresh bedding 🧡🦆

After the fox visit, we were left with only 2 surviving chickens. Thankfully, 5 out of our 6 ducks made it through. They seemed so quiet and sad for nearly two weeks, but now they’re back to their happy selves — enjoying fresh bedding, waddling about, and laying beautifully again. 💛

We’re really sad to share that after two visits from a fox over the past couple of nights, our flock has been badly affected and we’re now left with only a small number of chickens and ducks 💔

As a result, we’ll unfortunately be out of eggs for the time being.

We will be slowly raising and rebuilding our flock again, but as many of you know, it took years to achieve the beautiful range of egg colours we had before — so it may take some time before we’re back to where we were.
