AI… but make it honest. 👀

I thought I’d show you how I actually use AI in my cake business.

The first photo is the original image, taken in my shop. The second uses AI to add a more attractive backdrop.

But here’s the important bit…

The cake itself hasn’t been redesigned, “improved” or turned into something I didn’t make.

It’s still my cake.
My sugar flowers.
My decoration.
My work.

I’ve simply used AI to give the photograph a cleaner, more professional setting - a bit like having access to a styled photography studio without actually having one!

I think AI can be an amazing tool for small businesses, but for me there’s a big difference between using it to present your work beautifully and using it to create work that doesn’t actually exist.

So yes, I use AI.

But the cake? That’s 100% me. 🎂

🧁 CUPCAKE DECORATING WORKSHOP 🧁

Fancy learning how to create beautifully decorated cupcakes in a relaxed, friendly environment?

Join me at The Cakeworx for a beginner-friendly cupcake decorating workshop - absolutely no experience needed!

📅 Saturday 5th September
📍 The Cakeworx, 70 Pier Ave, Clacton-on-Sea

During the workshop you’ll:

🧁 Learn and practise piping with different nozzles
🧁 Decorate 6 beautiful cupcakes to take home
🧁 Pick up lots of hints and tips along the way
☕ Enjoy tea or coffee while you decorate

BOOKING

A £25 deposit is required to reserve your place, with the remaining £25 payable before/on the day.

Places are limited to just 8, so booking is essential.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If I need to cancel the workshop, your deposit can either be refunded in full or transferred to another workshop date.

If you need to cancel, your deposit is non-refundable unless I’m able to fill your place. If I can fill it, your deposit can either be refunded or transferred to another available workshop date.

Perfect for complete beginners, anyone who’d love to improve their piping skills, or simply for a lovely few hours doing something creative. 💜

From Tuesday 1st September, The Cakeworx studio opening hours will be changing 💜

🎂 Tuesday-Friday: 1pm-3pm
🎂 Saturday: 10am-4pm

But these aren’t the only times you can visit!

✨ Consultations, cake collections and visits can also be arranged by appointment outside of these hours.

As a small independent business, working by appointment allows me to give you my full attention when discussing your cake, while also giving me dedicated time behind the scenes for baking, decorating, creating and running workshops.

So if you need to see me outside of the regular studio hours, just get in touch and we can arrange a convenient time.

Some cakes tell a story…

This one certainly did.

When I was asked to create a cake featuring a Thames sailing barge, witches, a coven, black cats, guinea pigs and all things supernatural, I knew it was going to be unlike anything I’d made before!

One of my favourite things about creating bespoke cakes is bringing together all the little things that make someone uniquely them. It’s never just about making a cake - it’s about creating something personal.

A few hours after delivery, I received this message…

“OMG!!!!

What a cake?!?!
What a triumph!!

Thank you so much xx

I was blown away when it turned up.

Amanda cried xx”

Honestly, that’s why I do what I do.

Knowing that a cake I’ve created has become part of such a special memory means more than I can put into words.
