OKAY… WE NEED YOUR HELP! 👀

We’re fast approaching our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! 🤩🎉

Can you believe it?!?!?! Where on earth has that time gone?!

One whole year of blood, sweat, tears, laughter, ridiculously long days, 3:45am alarms, 3789643 new products, absolute madness, excitement, challenges, sacrifices and everything in between…

And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! 🥰

We want to do something really special to celebrate. Not just for us, but for all of YOU who have supported us, encouraged us, visited us, spread the word and helped make our little business what it is today.

We’re going to celebrate on Saturday 28th November.

SO… WHAT SHOULD WE DO?! 🤩🎈

We’ve got a few ideas up our sleeves, but we’d LOVE to hear yours!

It’s so true what they say… customers become friends. 🥹❤️

Since opening at Clitheroe Market, we’ve met some of the most wonderful people.

We have customers who visit us every single week, some every single market day! People who not only support our little business and believe in what we do, but who stop for a good old natter, have a laugh with us, share their stories and check in to see how we are doing.

And the lovely thing is, it genuinely feels like we’ve known some of these people for years, when in reality, we only met them a few months ago! ❤️

Shauna and Dave have been visiting us since we opened on the market, and Shauna is a fantastic baker herself!

Yesterday morning, she popped in for her usual Barton Bakes treats, went home, baked this absolutely INCREDIBLE sourdough and then came all the way back to surprise us with it! 😍🍞

I mean… LOOK AT THAT BREAD!!! 🤤

What a beautiful, thoughtful thing to do. And what a treat for us, being on the receiving end of somebody else’s baking for a change! ❤️

It’s little moments like this that remind me that Barton Bakes has become so much more than just a place where we sell pies and cakes.

It’s the people. The conversations. The friendships. The familiar faces we look forward to seeing every market day.

We started this business to make good food, but somewhere along the way, we’ve ended up with a whole little community of wonderful people around us.

And that means more than I can put into words.

Thank you, Shauna, for such a lovely surprise and for always being so supportive and kind. And thank you to every single person who makes our market days what they are.

We really are so lucky to have met you all. ❤️

What happens is, we always set up the sweet treats first. I don’t actually know why, it’s just become a habit of getting the cakes ready before the sausage rolls and pies in a morning!

So whilst all the savouries are still in the oven, I quickly grab a video of the sweet counter looking all lovely and full.

Then, by the time everything else is ready, the morning madness has already begun and customers have bought a good chunk of it before I’ve even had chance to get my camera out again! 🤣

Also, half the time the sausage rolls are selling before they’ve even cooled down enough to make it into the counter…

So next time, I’m going to make a conscious effort to get the savouries out first. I am determined to get a video of the entire counter, fully stocked, before you lovely lot get your hands on it! 😜❤️
