🐝 Big News From the Apiary! 🐝

We’re growing — literally!

This week we expanded our apiary making fresh splits to make strong, healthy nucs, (nucs are the green and white smaller hive's boxes in the picture 😊).

There’s nothing better than new hives taking off and seeing the expansion / progression also making the delicious honey as well all know 🍯, We’re excited to share the journey with you all.

The new colonies are settling in nicely — by “nicely” I mean they’ve immediately started judging my beekeeping skills and demanding room service, Typical!

Please see the shared post below, this is to raise awareness of Asian hornets (Vespa velutina). These are a massive issue and have already been found in Southern and Northern areas of England, these are not just bad to Bee's but to all insects.

🐝 2026 Beekeeping Season Update 🐝

The season is well underway now and the bees are absolutely flying!
Had a good inspection today and really happy with what I’m seeing—strong colonies, plenty of stores, and lots of brood coming through.
The queens are laying well, with some nice solid brood patterns, so plenty of new bees on the way.
They’re bringing in pollen and nectar steadily, and drawing out comb nicely too. Always a good sign when everything’s ticking along like this.
Managed to spot the queen as well 👑🐝 (blue marked), always nice when she makes an appearance!
Now it’s all about staying on top of inspections, giving them space as they build, and keeping one eye on swarm season creeping up…

Fingers crossed the weather holds and they keep pushing on like this 🤞🍯
