A gorgeous day for the new Mr & Mrs Annington 😍

Despite the rain, the sun made an appearance for the most beautiful couple.

Some cakes take a piece of your heart before you’ve even made them…this was one of those! A design inspired by the venue. She was contemporary, elegant and in my opinion…a real show stopper 😍 sugar blooms to match the beauties from Colonnade Florist (breathtaking as always)

🍀 JUST A CAKE THEY SAY🍀

For years I’ve battled in my mind whether doing what I do has any real purpose. And I didn’t think it would be this little guy that would give me the answer.

My family sadly lost my Nan last week and sitting in one of her many display cupboards was this wee fella! Sun faded, a broken leg and only half an ear left…but she kept him for over 12 years along with a little bell I had made her.

Looking at him now takes me back to the St Patrick’s day that i made him for. Our crazy, rather loud and chaotic family sat around their house in fits of laughter wearing stupid hats and eating picky bits. Sneaking an extra Guinness to my grandad when Nan wasn’t looking 😬 sadly, that’s something we’ll never get to do again…but I have him

I’m not and I don’t think I’ll ever be a follower of the ‘trends’, but if I can spend everyday giving people little snippets of joy and help them make memories to treasure…I reckon that’s a pretty good purpose 💗

👜 Red Velvet cake…but make it bouji 🤪

Sometimes you get clients that remind you why you do what you do and why you love it! To have someone as excited as you are about a cake for someone they love is a bloomin beautiful feeling 🥰

Safe to say I had a lot of fun making this one 🤌🏻 (despite the heat giving everyone stress 🫠) I took so many pictures, my camera roll looks like a handbag shoot 📸

☁️ DETAILS ☁️

My favourite part of caking is always in the details…the parts often overlooked, but they usually make the cake!

I could have done a plain blue sky, but it just didn’t fill me with joy…adding the clouds brought it to life and it sitting on its own reminded me of a vintage renaissance painting (LOVED IT)

And of course that’s now inspired more ideas that I can’t quite shift.

I’ll be making tutorials of my favourite techniques that I’ve created and showing all the ways they can be used 😍

🚘🏁CARS🏁🚘

Happy 4th Birthday, Ted! The kindest little being you could hope to meet 🥰

This years theme was Cars 😍 Mater may just be one of my favourite characters ever created, so of course he had to feature.

And this evening I will be watching the films again as I’m not quite ready to say bye 😂 and the soundtrack has been on repeat for the last few days 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy 2nd Birthday, Eve 🍓

And apparently I’ve got a new obsession with making strawberries 😂 If you saw my stories, you would have seen my excitement making these little gems!

The sponges were doused in a strawberry syrup made from the strawberry tops (no waste here my friends)

This cake got filled with that beautiful, glossy buttercream that you saw…it tastes like ice cream 👀 and of course got some delightful rings of tangy strawberry jam 🤤
