London SW Branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, recently thanked the staff and customers of The Cricketers Harvester Restaurant in Addington Village, Croydon, for their fantastic support of our local Armed Forces community. SSAFA Branch members, Sue and Steve, both Croydon residents, presented Harvester staff member Kasia Urbanowicz, with a SSAFA 'Thank You Certificate' in recognition of the restaurant's ongoing support of the Armed Forces community.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has one aim - to ensure that members of our Armed Forces community in need never have to battle alone. It is a trusted source of support for serving personnel (regular and reserve forces), those who have served (usually called veterans), and their families in times of need.
For several years, the local veteran community has held a regular breakfast club at their local Harvester restaurant, The Cricketers. Kasia has always provided a warm, welcoming, and attentive service, helping to make these gatherings such a positive experience for everyone attending. Kasia has also been instrumental in arranging for The Cricketers to place a SSAFA collection tin on the bar, enabling customers to raise valuable funds for our charity and to promote awareness of the charity's work. The certificate was presented as a small token of our appreciation for Kasia's, her colleagues', and the customers ongoing support and commitment to SSAFA and the local Armed Forces community.
