Another great turnout at the quiz last night...45 folks across 13 teams. Winners (yet again) were the Fridge Magnets with 55 points, with the newly formed team of the Bar Flies coming in a very respectable second with 50 points.

We had a rollover on the jackpot for Davie's 'Play Your Cards Right' so that will carry forward to next month.

Date for your diary - the next quiz is Wednesday 25th November 8pm.

Another great quiz night this week - 48 contestants spread over 14 teams. Worthy winners this week were the ‘Freezer Magnets’.

Top marks to Quizmaster Davie who led the evening superbly - even when the AI generated anagram round fell apart. 😊

Davie finished the evening by bidding farewell to bar staff member Quin - this was her final shift before heading back to uni. He also thanked Callum - who will be much missed when he heads off to live in Edinburgh next week. Both were given a huge round of applause and we wish them well.

Well a fabulous turnout for the quiz last night of 54 quizzers! Returning champions The Fridge Magnets won ahead of a tightly contested 2nd place "Jonny Burns" and 3rd place " The Toilet Monitors" (previously known as The Young Ones).

A prize pot carried over after our first paid up "FunGame" of "Davie's Play Your Cards" ended with the Quizzie Rascals being drawn to play. Hard luck but adds to the pot for next month.

Great atmosphere and thanks to the question setters and our quizmaster Davie Telfer.

We also got some new members signed up for the Community Inn.

Hi all - an update on this week's quiz - another well attended evening with visitors joining locals for a hotly contested event.

The result was a close call between "The Young Ones" and " Steak Pie(ish) please" for the top spot. The Young Ones came out on top by 2 points in the end. As usual, Quizmaster Davie kept things under control and was thanked by all - a great job.

One of the Quiz organising team is moving on and last night was his last appearance. Jonathan Gibson has given the quiz a fantastic boost over his 18 months of involvement. He received a huge round of applause from quizzers for his efforts.

Jonathan joined the team initially indicating that he had some experience of quiz events. He very modestly admitted that he had won both University Challenge and Mastermind … and was the youngest ever winner of the latter. Over the past year he has popped up frequently on TV on ‘Only Connect’. Obviously being part of the Haven Quiz Team was the pinnacle of his achievements so far (!)…. but the others are pretty good too. Well done and thanks to Jonathan.
