Hi all - an update on this week's quiz - another well attended evening with visitors joining locals for a hotly contested event.
The result was a close call between "The Young Ones" and " Steak Pie(ish) please" for the top spot. The Young Ones came out on top by 2 points in the end. As usual, Quizmaster Davie kept things under control and was thanked by all - a great job.
One of the Quiz organising team is moving on and last night was his last appearance. Jonathan Gibson has given the quiz a fantastic boost over his 18 months of involvement. He received a huge round of applause from quizzers for his efforts.
Jonathan joined the team initially indicating that he had some experience of quiz events. He very modestly admitted that he had won both University Challenge and Mastermind … and was the youngest ever winner of the latter. Over the past year he has popped up frequently on TV on ‘Only Connect’. Obviously being part of the Haven Quiz Team was the pinnacle of his achievements so far (!)…. but the others are pretty good too. Well done and thanks to Jonathan.
