Another busy day here at B Drury Livestock
Today we had Olivia from the ForFarmers young stock team and Georgie my nutritionist doing the first weights of all 107 of our calves. This is so we have a better idea of what the DLWG is going forwards and it will be available for our customers who buy from us to view in the future.
This is going to be another exciting addition to our rearing system as well as this all our calves are BVD tag tested and vaccinated for mycoplasma and pneumonia.

Busy week again so far this week sold these 12 cattle to a great regular customer in holsworthy on Saturday. These weanlings were reared by us and fully vaccinated and also BVD tag tested like all our cattle.
Then collected 27 calves on Sunday and 24 on Monday for myself. I then collected and sold another 30 organic Angus calves directly from my supplier to another organic calf rearer on Tuesday. So far this week I’ve done 400miles transporting calves around the south west

20 weanlings loaded this morning and off to their new home in Dorset.

Orders now being taken for the spring born calves all our calves are reared to the best protocols and fully vaccinated.

So today has been one of those days so far. When I went to college a few years ago I did a course on agriculture. And so I thought my job description was a farmer but oh no not anymore!

So far today I’ve been a Calf rearer, vet, midwife heating engineer, plumber, mechanic, head of finance, accountant, head of sales , agronomist and head of bio security!!

Joys of farming I suppose 👍🏻👍🏻😄😄

The calves thought it was spring this morning because it wasn’t raining. 🤣 They took themselves for a jolly around the farm. I’ve spent about an hour getting them back inside as they thought the baler twine keeping them in their shed was tasty and ate it there is now a chain and D shackle keeping them in their yard
