I’ve sat patiently for a while now deciding what to write , how do you write about a disaster that’s being planned ? about the levels of stress and upset this is causing? This post isn’t a moan or one of those posts looking for sympathy it’s about making people aware of what’s happening around you right here on your doorstep.. you may have heard about it but don’t really know much about it or are turning a blind eye to it as it “won’t effect you” it will one way or another! I’m not a green peace protester, activist or campaigner but what I will stand up for is my home, our life and my children’s future! Up until earlier this year I was totally unaware of what was being planned until I opened the post one morning to discover the plans of the proposed Peak Cluster Co2 Pipe project and basically learn that our farm here , the home of Mootiful Milk is right in the middle of it! This proposed pipeline is roughly 40 meters wide and is planned to carry Co2 from Hope cement works to the Wirral!!! where the gases will be pumped in to empty pockets in middle of the ocean… if this goes ahead our farm won’t be here, our land will no longer be farmed and our herd or livelihood will no longer exist! This isn’t just our farm this is going to happen to, it effects our neighbors, farms, land, homes in all neighboring parishes like Castleton, Bradwell ,Peak Forest, Peak Dale, Dove Holes, Chapel, Whaley Bridge right across our beautiful Peak District!! Why would anyone want to destroy our stunning countryside? Destroy our homes and livelihoods?
This Sunday (27th) there are several walks taking place along the routes of the planned pipeline , this is for community’s to come together and to spread awareness of this unnecessary pipeline!!
Stage 1 of the walk will be bringing you to our farm - across the land that is to home the new proposed pipe , they want to destroy years of farming , natural beauty and the home to some of the amazing wildlife and species of wildflowers we have in certain areas of of our ground not to mention how they want to disturb acres of land that was originally part of the old Lead minings 💔 I’m sad, stressed and hate to think about what the future has in store for me my family, my children and our friends
