HELP! We need your muscles this Saturday, 4th April, at 4pm at Warden car park, Ballymastocker, PORTSALON.
You may have read that access to the beach via the boardwalk is currently impossible. As a result people are making their various ways across the dunes. With the Council, landowners and other agencies agreement, we have offered to install posts and rope, supplied by the Council, to create a path as the visitor pressure builds. Protecting the dunes from trampling is crucial but it’s a big job, that’s why we need you and yours. If you have any tools (sledgehammers, pole driver or spade and heavy duty gloves) please bring them along. Many hands make light work!
The good news is that Donegal County council will be starting works on the beach in the coming weeks, focusing on re-routing the river and reducing dune erosion.
Ballymastocker is a magnificent beach and hugely important to those who live, work and visit here. Let’s show just how much we care by helping out on Saturday. Please share this post to get as many people as possible along.
