That rain gave the garden a superboost!

Tomatoes are now in the greenhouse beds with a whole other tunnel to plant up too. Its definitely the turning point in the year and the garden starts to feel more like the Summer garden again.

Full steam ahead! New salad plantings are on their way, the greenhouse is a constant juggling game and the land is getting prepared for thousands of plants to get in the ground.

The tomato plants have been romping away too and the long awaited beauties will be coming to market with us from this week. For those who have been waiting in anticipation, we have all our classic favourites plus a handful of new varieties we are testing out this year. More veg plants coming week on week so keep an eye out if your one who grows your own!

COMMUNITY SEED SWAP UPDATE:

Spring is most definitely in the air and the community seed swap box has had a re-fill!

You can find the seed hive in St Michaels Trading Estate nestled against the wall between and

Stocks had run low after a successful first year for the community seed swap box but it was great rummaging through and seeing lots of new deposits - we have updated it with some of our own saved seed, old seed and donations from other people so please come and have a look!

We want this to be a self-fulfilling resource for the community in Bridport so please if you can, donate any old seed you have.

Remember even 'out of date' seed can still be viable.

A few rules to keep the box going and flowing:

🌱 Take only what you need
🌱 Re-donate what you don't use (and anything else you might have)
🌱 Think about what you can sow now, before you take lots - there is a whole growing season ahead!
🌱 Bring your own jars, bags, and a pen to label and decant bigger quantities so there is more to go around
🌱 Try to save your own seed this year to keep for your next growing season and re-donate any surplus

We are at Bridport market today. After a festive break and bad weather days we are finally here. Do pop along and say hello.
