Derwen Farm Derwen Farm, a family-run, organic smallholding in West Stafford, Dorchester All our livestock is free to range.

Derwen Farm started out as two degraded
maize fields, which we took control of in 2015. We are building a family run mixed farm providing high quality local produce, certified organic by the Soil Association. We have two flocks of White Leghorns and Lohmann browns, a flock of Jacob sheep, and a herd of various Berkshire and Gloucester Old Spot cross pigs.

When we started out, we had many WWOOFer volunteers come to the farm (world wide opportunities on organic farms). One lovely Italian couple taught us how to make Pasta alla Norma and it’s all about the sofrito!
I cooked the aubergine first and then added it as a crispy topping.
